A little bit more expensive but I like tanks inc for replacement tanks. They come powder coated.

For custom tanks, I typically like Ricks.

I can’t remember what brand they were but I think I had them ordered through O’reilys and picked them up at the store. IIRC I saved a bunch on shipping doing it that way

when i got my spectra tank from amazon, i didnt have choice in where to pick it up but i got it shipped about 45 minutes from me for free, without havingt opay HUGE for household delivery
the tank was a reduced cost item returned to amazon because of cosmetic issue, one of the seams that i mentioned to the OP was dented/bent downward from likely being dropped or bumped into

That didnt bother me, and it was required to use the tank straps to mount it anyway so I got a 35$ ish dollar tank for the cost of gas in my f150 with 17mpg ish , a trip on the freeway in nice weather, and all the steering corrections its sloppy crappy steering setup needed and no cruise control meant pedal corrections all the time lol

forgot to show you( yes this is a hole in my bed youre looking through) see the strap, I probably went a bit tight or maybe it just wasnt perfectly square in the recessed portion, but you see how my tank has the thing you couldnt get to work with? I just bent it flat

The original tanks dont have such a large seam that sticks out iirc

This is my original tank, the only reason i replaced it was the lock ring was too corroded to the tank it destroyed the boss that holds it , the tank isnt that bad inside and the original sock was either plugged up or bad and the gunk and small amount of rust in the tank was plugging it up often
but see how there is no excess on the seam? Thats why the straps would fit a original tank and thus are the length they are, and yours didnt fit without bending.

I dont think its wise to reuse a strap if you are able to even, so maybe aftermarket ones are different but it was easy to see how i just needed to distort those and the strap would make it to the bracket where the nylock secures it

Didn’t know someone made plastic tanks for squarebodys. Thats cool.
Expensive but nice if you’re trying to get long life out of a new tank in a year round rust belt rig.
But for the vast majority, $90-150 depending on size and whether you get it with a new sender seems more reasonable.
OP, a bought literally the cheapest tank I could find (new). Been holding gas fine for 3 years and counting. I don’t think there’s a quality or other issue with the cheap tanks that are readily available from many vendors.

I agree with metal tanks

He just wanted a solution out of the seam being out far from the tank blocking the strap, the plastic one i figured would do that, then i also showed him why his strap didnt fit on the tank he tried :)
