Im sharing this because I love the restoration and modification of these trucks... I recently purchased a Grizzly for 2 reasons, a SMOKIN' deal number 1 and members on this site seem to be convinced it has better street manners than the Detroit which I have much difficulty believing after watching a highly trusted national dealer take both units apart and they are identical internally like Yukon stole Detroit's patent, never the less they are equally as rugged and that's all I care about oh and price... So after weeks of pondering and research, Summit $1031.89 several other places in the $975 range which Summit will match anyway, for $hits and grins I went on Amazon and found one for $545 from a company called Driveline Specialists out of Idaho... Too good to be true right ! Nope check out the pic below, there you go my fellow Squarejaws there were 6 left before I purchased mine good luck !

I absolutely hated my Detroit Locker. Pulled it out and sold it for $200 just to get rid of it. The one your showing is on Amazon currently for $545.00. Makes you wonder why they are half the price of everywhere else? I think there's a difference between "assembled in USA" and "MADE in USA"? I learned that with Aeromotive Fuel Regulators. However, thier description on Summit Racing says "assembled in the USA" so who knows maybe Summit has lost their damn mind by listing them at $1031.89!

Thats how I found mine but it’s shipped by the company I mentioned, I do not think Yukon makes 2 models made in the USA and assembled in the USA but if I’m wrong I will be very angry, hopefully someone here can clarify this delima….

Hey @Fastduramax , how did it turn out with the Grizzly Locker? Did you install it? Front or rear diff or both? How is driveability? Good on the paved road at all speeds? How about on rough terrain? I'm looking for a locker for my 1980 K15 SM465/NP205 long box, for both the rear GM corporate 12-bolt and the front GM corporate 10-bolt.

Wish I could tell ya Mark but haven't installed it yet had to clean up a little health issue last year and never got my new garage put up, That will happen this spring, it is in my neighbors garage for the winter where I could be working on it but work is stupid busy at the moment, when I rip my first tire blaze I will surely report ! I mainly went with the Griz cuz it reportedly has better street manners than the Detroit, not calling anyone out but I honestly don't see how I cannot see the difference in design I think Griz stole Detroit's patent, we shall see !

I put a grizzly in the back of my Wrangler and liked it a lot. Decent road manners for an automatic locker on a short wheelbase rig. Pretty quiet. Barely heard a noise out of it. It was super predictable. If I was on the gas then it was locked, if I was off the gas then it was unlocked. YMMV
