I need a 1978-up tach cluster housing-doesn't have to be a whole cluster-I only need the housing for one. I paid really good $$ for an 80-81 tach cluster from a member off a different forum only to have the seller package it like complete dog crap so it arrived with every single mounting point busted off! I planned to restore it anyway but didn't intend to replace the carrier until I seen the damage. Anybody have one? It needs to be 1978-up tach specific.

Jabin this is what I have, don't know much about it. I have never used it. You are more than welcome to it. Took a couple pics for you. Some of the mounting tabs are broken, I think two. I will never use it, so let me know if you want to take the chance. Pay for shipping and it's yours.

That looks like a 75-76 cluster which means it has a mechanical oil gauge yes? I need all electric but I gotta have good mounting standoffs-I appreciate the offer tho! It would still be a great parts cluster!

I need one as well at some point. I may just modify a regular cluster like I have before. I found a tach and gas gauge laying behind the seat of a truck a while back but the carrier was shattered. They also seem to actually work!

Yep-I'm still looking. It's swap meet season but I don't have the time lol. I am restoring an 80 Tach cluster for use in my 86 K10 and I'll be looking for another 80/81 tach cluster for my 86 CC dually project as well now.

Pretty sure I have a instrument back that's from an 81. But it's not a tach cluster. Isn't the white back part the same with exception of the printed circuit? The printed circuit can be taken off the old one and placed on a different back can't it? What am I missing or not thinking about?

On non tach cluster carriers you can fairly easily add the OEM tach by trimming the back out but-you cant easily add the small fuel gauge which uses 3 electrical tangs-the clock opening can't be changed. I'm not saying something can't be cobbled together but I'd rather keep it OE GM ya know?

I get it. I think I'd have had to ask for a refund and send it back. I'd think it's rare enough to find a tach cluster, then find a deal on a non working one that someone will **** out for cheap is even more rare.

Finding one with all the mounting tabs intact is almost impossible it seems.

I can epoxy weld cracked/missing side tabs. The one I got was packaged so poorly it's awful!
