I rebuilt mine with parts from LMC. The only problem I had was one of them needed a new frame. The setting rubber they sell doesn't work. After trying for a long time, found a review that said to get it from Summit instead. Did just that and it was super easy. Every thing else worked great.

Yeah, I just tried it and it isn't working. I plan to order some stuff later this week so I might have to call them.

I bought the parts needed to rebuild mine. Got 90% done on one side (couldn’t get the pivot pin in right) and gave up. Precision rebuilt them and it was totally worth it.
We hear you. We started ours and there were days I just had to walk away or I would have thrown them in the trash I got so frustrated. There were I know at least two times over the course of the three weeks it took to finish them that I was going to box it all up and send them to Precision… I do have to say the pivot pin for us was the easy part…guess we got lucky on something !

I'm going to disagree with everyone. I rebuilt mine with precision seals and the rivet/tool from LMC. A couple plastic trims tools and a bottle of soapy water. Way easier than converting my auto trans to manual, rebuilding the steering column, adding hydroboost, swapping in 1 ton axles, adding Vintage Air, Edelbrock efi, outrageous sound system, and for sure adding a rear sliding window! Yep, wing windows weren't that difficult :33:. RP, what say you?

I bought a set from LMC a few years ago and didn't have the luck others have had. They were around $500 a pair back then.
In the California sun the black finish is flaking off. They look worse than the originals. It looks like a poor attempt at powder coating.
I still have the factory originals so I may rebuild them.

I’m undecided on a plan of attack for these two yet…
If I do them myself I’ll have the frames powder coated black where I work.
A price quote from Precision soon.

I have to agree with SquareRoot on this one, a few good hard plastic push tools and some slippery lube and it’s done, just take your time and get your mind right, and the setting tape from LMC is too thick, I got mine from Precision good luck on your project and hope everyone has a great Easter
