If so, any reason to “not” use the lock strip version? Removing my windows was super easy with the lock strip version and suspecting install will be easier as well.
I worked for a city that had square bodies in the fleet. I recall those base model trucks did not have a lock strip front or rear, because it was different than the Square bodies I had at the time.
I'm sure it's much easier using the lock strip style than not. It wasn't too hard installing the new rear slider in the '79. You just use a lot of liquid soap and a rope to pull in the gasket. There are you tube videos I'm sure.
I installed the front in that truck too (by myself I'll add), but I used the lock strip style. I did not use any sealant as there was none on that truck or my current '85 when the original got removed. Again I used a lot of soap. I had to do some careful pounding on the glass to make it fit the top corners, but got it in. Definitely get one of the tools to install the lock strip.
