I had a new windshield installed this week and the plug for the antenna is too close to the gasket to get the snap fitting of the antenna wire into the button on the windshield. I’m thinking this is a job for an exacto knife. I’m going to cut a bit of relief in the gasket.

Anybody every run into this problem and have a better solution?

I’m thinking the answer is nobody!

Haven’t had time to address this problem yet. I will post back when I do. Here’s a picture of the challenge.

Kind of, the windshield I just got locally that button was lower than the old one. Still able to plug it in without modification. It just kinked the lead more than normal.

Smear a little dab of anti-seize on it and use a piece of wood to 'massage' the button on.

I used duct tape to hold mine on. My truck(84 Sierra, Base model) had a fender antenna originally. It was cheaper to buy a windshield with the antenna in it, than not

Get a 1" x 1/4" piece of steel (with no sharp corners or edges) and gently push the gasket down away from the connection. Also massage the gasket down where the connection band goes into the dash. Then use @Snoots suggestion.
