Once you put the base of this item on how do you attach the trim. Special tool?

Not sure why this was originally placed in the introduction subforum but I’ve moved it for you
No special tool. Put trim up, line up holes, screw down little bolts, done[/
I believe he's referring to the thin stainless trim piece that goes on top of the black gutter which gets screwed to the cab.Not sure why this was originally placed in the introduction subforum but I’ve moved it for you

It has a piece of base that goes on the truck..........then the trim goes on it somehow. It is so difficult the snap on it appears to need a special tool. It also appears the curves from the base and the curves from the trim are not the same? Came from LMC
still not sure, then. My OEM pieces must not have that?I believe he's referring to the thin stainless trim piece that goes on top of the black gutter which gets screwed to the cab.
My oem had one. At least I think it’s oem it was out on my 73 looooong before my family got it. You can bend the steel off the “base” to remove the screws easier. I just wouldn’t do it. Steel tends to work harden and break after being manipulated too many times ....still not sure, then. My OEM pieces must not have that?

Maybe I need to see a pic then. I must not be understanding something correctly lolSure you do.
The drip rail is made of two pieces. One black painted steel piece which is the actual gutter and one stainless trim piece that goes on top of it.Maybe I need to see a pic then. I must not be understanding something correctly lol
I know what you're talking about now Then my suggestion to the OP is attach that stainless trim to that black steel piece then attach it to the body. The stainless piece should just pinch on to the steel piece. Shouldn't be rocket science with no need for a special tool. The drip rail is made of two pieces.
