Wind noise is running me stir crazy

I hope I am in the right forum. I have so much wind noise in my truck I can’t stand it. I can’t tell where it’s coming from because I am driving. I guess I need to person on the passenger side. I get up to 50 mph it’s crazy. I was wondering about the side vent window rubber? I hade my truck painted and doors removed, could they be out of line? I need to know where to start, is that common in these trucks

If it's that bad, you should be able to find the offending seal (or seals) with a visual inspection and spraying that side of the cab with a water hose.

mine does the same. I can tell I need all glass seals though so it's obvious to me. If/when I get it fixed I'll be in heaven cuz it's never been quiet.....have to yell at others to have a conversation lol.

Cut the mufflers off, then you won't hear the wind anymore

Seriously though, I would do a good visual inspection and see if any of the seals are not making contact to their mating surfaces.

Have some of you talked about doubling up your door seals with made-to-fit seals and then using hardware store weather stripping to help combat wind noise? If not, maybe I dreamed that and if so, just move along. These aren’t the droids you’re looking for.

I had the same problem. Adjusting the doors so that they close firmly did a lot. Now i have to slam them a little harder but it really helped.
Then i added this, which also helped a little.

My passenger vent window has wind noise. Putting a cardboard “shim” beneath the vent window handle helps.

There is a factory seal on the door similar to what you added. Was option on 70's trucks. I added them to my 91 suburban

Easiest way to find air leaks is with smoke. A fireworks punk, an incense or someone that smokes. Have them drive, You take Your smoking device and move it around near the windows and doors. You will soon see the smoke being pulled out.
Dont forget the windshield too.

That above the door seal was available on all squares throughout the years. Maybe someone can chime in on what level of trim options included them or what the rpo code was for them.

Can't help much on that, seems I grew up with and only own low level garbage that was not worthy of such fancy options.

LMC shows 79-81 had the upper door weather strip. #3 is similar to factory and is what I bought for my truck. I'll install them after I paint it. #2 is the stick on style.

New door seals and a second seal on the door makes a big difference, I added the seal to most of the door.
