Yes, no maybe so. More details are needed .Putting a 350 chevy in to what Buick. Year, model, engine, transmission. Probably won't be a big deal but I need that info. And yes I've done goofy swaps like this many times.

They make adapter plate for trans. I had a 355 SBC in a 68 Lemans. Depending on app you may have to rewire engine but it can be done.

i have a 77 c body, you have an 82 b body. not like they are SUPER different, my owners manual covers both a 77 electra and a 77 lesabre, and they are both in the same generation from 77-84. i have the factory service manual for a 77 which covers the full size lineup.

You have likely a car that came with a 350 buick and TH350.
But it could also have a 403 olds and a th400.
or a 305 pontiac/buick and a tm2700 or whaever the 4 speed was
or a 225 v6 and a th350.

There were variations. But short story is it fit BOP engines and the trans was th350. if you can find out if a SBC can drop in place of its motor mounts, you should be ok. and the fact a 403 olds fit tells me a 305 or 350 sbc should fit, but i dont know external dimensions. like said, need adapter but if its got neither trans or engine you are just putting your own in then anyway lol

Dang....I've got to learn about all this a body, b body stuff?? It is a auto trans, no idea what engine yet, may find out tomorrow?? From what I've been able to find out, it could be the v 6, the 350 Buick, 307 Pontiac/Buick (Ive no idea why the letters got fat??) Or the 403..... Was hunting a 2 door Caprice for the roundy round car.... but the kid is afoot and figure this may kill 2 birds???

Copy pasted some website with formatting, it carried over.
307 yes I dont play with such pathetic displacements anyway, around here anything short of 327 except 283, 234, 288, and 250, 292, ... okay, maybe I do play with, but not the V8s!... that are pushrod... that are not 283.. that.. yeah.

307 is small, yawn.

I would say most likely a 225 v6 or a 350 buick. maybe 307. vin you could check? vin numbe r tells you those things. Any pic of engine? A small block buick will contain the distributor by the driver headlight corner, a pontiac, olds, or chevy will have it by the passenger door corner.a v6 in 82 MIGHT have electronic ignition but i dont think they got quite there in 82. by 1988 they did

What year we talking?
After a bit, like 90's, Pontiacs received corporate small blocks (chevy 350's)
