White strap under gauge cluster on 74

Hello, new to the forum!

Has anyone seen a white strap looking thing that is riveted above the windshield wiper switch behind the dash bezel.

Possibly a ground? It headed behind the steering column and terminated in some sort of crimp adapter that looks like it used to have a black wire headed out of it.

I've tried searching but haven't had any luck finding anything nor do I even know what to call it. Thanks!

I don't recognize it, but it sure appears to be a fiber optic light source for the wiper switch. The end you are holding would plug into the light source.
Here is a much later style GM unit. The end is sticking up in front of the vent.

It is a fiber optics light for the wiper switch. Earlier clusters had that before a bulb. Theres a thread about it here somewhere.

Thanks, probably no sources for those other than junkyards or someone's parts collection?

Lmc may have them. Or places like brothers or classic truck parts
