Okay so at the end of the day I’m gonna do whatever the hell I want, but I’m curious what the consensus is on having the white tire letters in or out. I do think that white letters out have their time and place while others, blacked out would make more sense. My specific application would be Cooper Cobra Radial G/T 255/70/R15’s on a 1974 Chevy C10 S/B with new black paint sitting on Cragar SS rims....

Pics of truck? That will be the deciding factor is the truck and what wheels will be on it.

I asked this about a year ago. The consensus was split.

I think white letters out are age appropriate for our trucks.
Blackwalls look better on newer vehicles... '90s and up.

Maybe the better question to narrow it down would be, "would you be willing to pay extra for white lettering or the black side out?" My brother in law paid extra for white letters on a set of BFG ATs and the shop put the letters to the inside. Boy was he pissed, and made them switch them around. lol

I bought wheel tire combo online. They mounted for free before sending to me but I specified white lettering out...they reversed it, so now I’m contemplating if I want to take them to the tire shop to turn em around

if you want white letter out then just take it to the shop. Can't be more than $15 a wheel or maybe even free if you've got a good enough relationship with the shop.

America’s/discount tire would probably do it for free, but karma would dictate that you go back to them for future tire purchases.

I would just leave it though, unless the balance is poor.

The shop I use does mine for free but they know I'm coming to them for anything I need and can't handle myself so they cut me some slack on the smaller requests like that.

Am I missing something here? Every shop I've been to has asked if I wanted the white letters inside or out, or I've asked. There's never been any charge.
On my 90s jeeps I always got white out (wranglers, bfg's, ltx's). I think it looks better. (although one Cherokee came with whitewall car tires on it. That was an embarrassing couple of weeks....lol)
Newer cars I do black out. My 90 Si hatchback was usually black out, but I got a set of traction t/a's once that i thought would look cool with white out. And they did.
