Once you get your equipment installed, tune to Channel 9 and just listen. I live a bit northeast of Memphis TN, cheap Walmart Cobra radio, cheap “braided stainless” coax cable, cheap firestick clone with a cracked cover, so I covered it in heat shrink tubing. Brush up on your Tex Mex Spanish, the Federales are hilarious… Channel 19 I can usually listen to Bakersfield CA while sitting in my driveway. Channel 21 I hear a lot of Quebecoise, 6 I hear Cajun French. Channel 8 locally is the drug runners and bootleggers.
Since the advent of cell towers, skip is outrageous…

Note, antenna is spring mounted to the headache rack of a 99 K3500 flatbed.
