4 belt crank pulley, what product did you use for that? i think @SirRobyn0 may be curious too lol
Thanks for tagging me, yes I would be interested though in the picture it looks like a stock SBC 4 groove off a medium duty truck. We'll see what he says.

I have used harnesses from both, the American Autowire is by far easier.

The painless kit has you crimp the old sockets/plugs onto the new harness. I despise crimp butt connectors, eventually they fail. Not to mention the potential problems of attempting to use 40 tear old sockets and connectors, assuming the vehicle still has them and in usable condition.

I have never used the M&H products, so I have no experience to report.

Also is that a cast bracket for the ps pump(as opposed to the multipiece ones originally came on these)
The alt bracket and 4 belt pulley were on the truck when I got it, no idea on the story of how they came to live on there but they are gone now, in fact the motor in those photos only stayed in the truck for a few weeks after the wiring project. This is how she looks now.

Those 4 grove crank pulleys are pretty hard to find. AFAIK they came on medium duty SBC trucks, so there could be 2 belts over the A/C & P/S and another 2 belts on the alt. If you still have that 4 grove pully and want to sell it I would be interested.

It’s hard to read at this point but the stamping on it seems to read 3923 898. Anyone that needs one can have it if your ever heading through the Coachella valley. Asking price is a cold beer and a few tall tales.

The truck is a 73 c20 camper special that originally had a 454 however when I got it it had a sbc 350 bfgoodwrench motor in it, papers in the glovebox said it was installed in ‘91. No idea if the pulley came with it or was from an old stash. It was a factory a/c truck but it didn’t have a compressor when I got it, didn’t even have lines run to the heater core.

You got a point there. I use new sockets and connectors so that I have new wires all the way, but that's extra $. I'll go for american autowire for my next wiring to make a first hand experience.

When I priced it out I included the new socket kit and it ended up being about $80 cheaper than aaw. It’s close enough to be a wash for most. My brother used the aaw on his 68 mustang and I’d say they are Apple to apples. The real value to the painless kit is the instructions that came with it. The aaw kit comes with a 30 page instruction, painless comes with a book that covers everything for the 73-87 in color and detail. The book alone is worth the price.

The painless book is great, have it for my wifes 69 sportsroof. Also the tech service, I had to make changes to the harness to make the lights street legal in europe. Took them never longer than 48 hours to answer my questions.
