Wheel Vintiques 16X8s

I have heard that these wheels will not work on our 12" dog dish caps, does anyone have any proof of this, I want to buy a set of them, but will not if the dog dish caps wont work.

What series wheel are you looking at? I know off hand the 62 and 64 series will accept the dog dish caps.

The 16" stock steel wheels use a bigger Dog Dish, about 14" dia, can be identified as having 6 black "tabs".
The 15" wheel uses the smaller 12" Dish, has 5 "tabs".

All the dig dish caps I have seen on ebay are 12", it didnt look like it made a difference if it had 5 or 6 black tabs???

The larger Dishes can be a bit harder to find, but look around they are out there at a reasonable price. I touch them up w/ a little brush on paint if needed. Will fit your series 82 wheels..

Series 82 will be the larger 14" caps, the 6 tab variety.

From everything I have seen, the 5 lug wheels that had hub caps from the factory were 15" in diameter and used the smaller 12", 5 tab hub caps.

The eight lug wheels came in 16" and 16.5" diameters and used the larger caps.

edit: If you currently have hubcaps on your truck now, they will fit the Series 82 you want.

I checked ebay and saw that. Well some folks are a bit confused, posting up a picture of a 6 tab dish, saying it 'came off a 3/4 ton' , then calling it a 12" dish.

Simple rule of thumb:
5 tabs = 15" wheel.
6 tabs = 16" or 16 1/2" wheel.
