Not sure about the Argent Silver, but I would certainly prime them first.

Definitely prime. The rustoleum professional high performance spray paint is pretty good stuff. The ‘aluminum’ color is the closest to argent silver. They also have ‘light machine gray’, ‘dark machine gray’, and ‘smoke gray’ all in professional high performance line of spray paint. Krylon also makes a wheel specific silver that I haven’t tried. Don’t get lesser spray paints. From what a paint professional has told me, the highest end rattle can paints are already borderline on durability for wheels and expect to touch up where weights are removed when rebalancing.

Getting any of the colors I’ve mentioned in a high solids base and shooting through an hvlp is preferable for durability.

I went with dark machine gray

Soapy dawn water and a scotch brite pad before you paint. Mineral spirit wipe down is a good idea too.

Tried this one as a test subject. Bead blasted, wiped with an automotive surface cleaner then painted with rustoleum 2 in 1 gloss black. Theres some heavy pitting on the bead area, anybody think that will be a problem sealing a tire?

This is what I use for ralley wheels: Clean/sandblast then prime with Rustoleum red primer, dry overnight, then the back with semi-gloss black and let that dry. The front gets a covering coat of Rustoleum aluminum and at that point you think you really screwed up but before it completely dries, I usually can't wait but a couple of minutes, spray it with a Rustoleum gloss clear. The clear transforms the awful aluminum into a beautiful factory argent color. I know it sounds crazy but it is the best spray can method I have found. I have used automotive mixed paint for GM ralley wheels but not anymore. This is too easy and no spray gun cleaning.

The rustoleum red oil base in a bucket takes forever to dry, but it’s awesome primer for the money

This is what I used on my grill last year and came out nice. If I was going to paint rally wheels or any others, I would definitely use this. Easy to get local at AZ.
