What Year/Models Did These Gauge Clusters Originally Come In?

Sorry to keep bombarding you guys with these "Squarebody Noob Questions", but I was just trying to figure out which models these things originally came in. I got these when I bought my Blazer. My temp and oil pressure gauges aren't working right now and figured if the actual gauges were bad (instead of something like a loose connection or sending unit) I could possibly pull and replace from these if needed. The one on the right appears to be complete and looks pretty much the same as the one that is in my '85 Blazer, except mine doesn't have the trip meter and reset post. That's the only difference that stands out to me, anyway. The one on the left I have no clue about. It's missing a few parts, apparently. Any info is much appreciated. Thanks!

the one on the left spans in trucks from 1973 to later 70s. My brother has a '77 Cheyenne and he has these gauges. I have an '80 High Sierra and i have the gauges on the right (IOW gauges on the left are the older style, not sure which year exactly they changed)

As stated the one on the left is for 70’s squares, I believe earlier years because of the amp gauge (instead of bolts).

The 85 mph cluster may be a direct swap if you have gauges already (vs warning lights), it just depends - if it’s a late 80’s the wiring pin out can be different. The individual small gauges should interchange with yours. The speedo will also interchange but you’ll need the lens for the trip button hole.

I'm kinda scared to crack that 85 MPH one open because of that delicate-looking printed circuit on the back. There are some contacts on the back that look like they fold over on top of the printed circuit. Do you just bend those metal contacts off the printed circuit to remove them?

EDIT: Never mind. those metal clips just hold the printed circuit on the back of the housing.

Well, if it's a direct swap that would be cool. The one currently in my '85 Blazer has two little round plastic windows in the speedometer that light up blue for the hi-beams setting and no trip meter, while this one does have the trip meter and a larger, single, blue plastic window for the hi-beams. Thinking about ordering a clock to install in this thing. Probably just going to sell the 70's model. I took some time today to disassemble and clean it up. Cleaned off all the contact points and removed some surface rust from the trip meter pin. Just used warm water and a little Dawn dish soap and some Windex. Turned out pretty good, in my humble noob opinion. Now just need a clock for that empty space and some bulbs.

EDIT: Doesn't look like I can put a clock in this thing. Darn it.

LOL it has been rainy and cold here for like a week straight so I wanted something I could work on indoors today.

Just ordered 12 bulbs/sockets for this thing - the old school incandescent kind not LED's.

You can put a clock in it. All you have to do is hole saw out the back. Make sure you have the clock first so you'll know what size hole saw to use. Then will have to drill a small hole for the clock stem in the clear face plate.

I don't think I've heard of more than two of those clocks that are still working. I wouldn't bother with it.

Well, I think I just found one on eBay with all the plugs & wires. I'll just have to figure out where the thing plugs in now.

Now I too have one! I just have to wait for it to arrive from the frozen plains of Texas which is no doubt currently experiencing speedy and totally on time postal service!

I've had a few of them. They have all actually worked.
