Aw man...Going to my bank yesterday and sitting in an old garage that I had never seen open was a barn fresh 1955 Olds...I wanted it bad but no one was around to ask about it and the garage was closed today.

OOOOHHhh BOY!!! i`d a had a tough time to keep from doing some door knocking.juz sayin.LOL
While You was at the bank did You get out enough for Me to buy that Olds.LOL

heres my first car and my third car in the same picture. First car was an 82 c10 suburban 350/th350. was sent to the crusher and the engine and trans are in my current truck. The eclipse was my third car and will someday get another one just like it. 91 gsx.

My dad has a rust free 52 olds 88 with a 455/400 in his garage. The engine is rebuilt sitting to the side. I never had the chance to put it back in because I don't know how to rebuild a tranny and he hasn't paid anyone to do it.

IF IT WERE ME,I would get a repoair manual specific to that transmission,two drain pans,about five gallons of stoddard solvent and then read that manual through twice,get to understand what it is telling Me,then start disasembling that transmission.
I know there are specialty tools needed but they can be improvised,I know,I`ve done it.
Wash parts in one pan,rinse in the other,lay them out onm rags to dry,brake and parts cleaner helps speed the dry process.
Disasemble the clutch pistons and replace the parts as You go,You can do it but this is`nt the thread to get into this sort of a discussion,if You are interested in doing this rebuild then please start a new thread,You will get a lot of help in here,I am sure.

I've had a lot of my own projects and he has a 70 Monte Carlo that gets more attention. Now I'm 1800 miles away from him so I can't do anything about. I think he's talking about selling it but I know he's in no hurry. I may end up inheriting it I have no idea. It's really in good shape.

My first car was a 87 Plymouth Turismo. My parents bought it for my mom to drive and me to practice when I was 15. It had 80something k miles and they paid $500 for it. Mom drove it for a year, I drove it for 3yrs then they sold it to my uncle who drove it forever. I think he had it well over 200k and only changed the a/c pump. I'd say that was a pretty good car.
