if the truck is parked in a garage the vented gas cap may lead to the garage smelling like gas all the time not a problem with a detached garage but with an attached garage it can make the house smell like gas. Id prefer to reconnect the line and find a canister from one of the many people here taking theirs off or parting trucks. The canister doesnt hurt hp is probably only in the way if you are running twin turbos.
