glass, remaining rust, remove steering slop, cab mounts, completely rebuild an LS, carpet after rust is taken care of, kick panel vent door, install visor, and fix a few window leaks.

just to mention a few off hand

My plan is to get the rebuilt transmission back in and start driving it year round as my daily driver everywhere. Sold my “new” truck so this is it. Make as many minor improvements as I see fit and keep slathering on the rust check lol to keep it from disintegrating here in the rust belt.

'79 c20, 454/400 longbed.
I'm visualizing a 3/4 ton work truck that does at least mid 12's in the quarter. Lowered two inches max, but still 8200# capable. Banging tunes, sleeper all the way.

Would love a dump bed too, but maybe that's being a little greedy, no?

You’re probably a pro at rust prevention methods but think about around the windshield and back window frames. If the truck was repainted and repaired right around the windows and cowl, it should last a long time, but I’d be thinking about rustproofing inside the frames and make sure all good paint under the window gaskets.

1980 K25 350/350/205. Finishing up the wiring harness and then swapping in the MPFI 454/4l80 controlled by a 2002 Corvette PCM. It will be getting a seat swap and gauge cluster work at the same time. Adding a 91 speedometer to go along with the Pcm and a tach upgrade. It will also have the GMT-400 cruise control on it.

Once that’s done I can figure out what I’m doing with the body and paint.

This will be a DD/work horse - 3/4 of the year (no winters). In the short term (Spring) - body and paint, so I can finally start real reassembly. REALLY need to have this thing at least running and back on the frame this summer. Compressor went out so am looking for a replacement.....looking forward to that like a prostrate exam. At the moment, the truck looks like this....so anything forward is an improvement. I have a lawn chair I put in it and sit on while making engine noises. :driver:

Got a long ways to go. My "shop" is the driveway so hopefully the weather in my shop is nice this year.

Drive it!

1984 C20 305 - 700R4 3.41 rear gears.

Plan was to do minimal maintenance to the truck and use it as a farm truck. I do use it as a farm truck but quite frankly I fell in love with the thing on the drive home from Portland where I bought the thing.

Still wanted to stick to the plan. Figured I'd drive the truck back and forth to work for the first two weeks to shake it down and then go back to driving my Jeep which is suppose to be my daily driver. Never went back to the Jeep. And I've proceeded to fix up the truck quite a bit. Replaced the missing trim, replaced missing hob caps, made her look nice.

Rebuilt the transmission last fall.

I still haven't answered your question.....

I'd like to swap the rear end to a full floater with 4.10 or 4.56 gears.
I'd like to get the ESC functioning correctly so my little 305 can have it's maximum power and economy without pinging itself to death.

I have limited pictures on my work computer of my truck but here she is, towing that Dodge Dakota behind her.

Just wheel it, mud / rocks / Walmart I don’t care. It’s been sitting for too long with 3-4 half finished projects, I’m ready to drive it anywhere again.

Thanks...I want / need to use it, but it will still be a pampered toy. In a way they're more fun when not so overdone, but thats the OCD in me. Wife says I never know when to quit and she's right. lol :hat:

I would love to find a set of the white wagon wheels for mine. New tires, new paint, new stereo and new exhaust would pretty much finish it out. Currently no extra money at the moment due to restoring it up to now. At least I can drive it.

Pretty much this.
Ceptin' mine will have a 4L80 for the transmission and stock height.
I have had my kid find and pull a 1997 Gen 6 454 and its matching 4L80 transmission that will both be rebuilt eventually.
When that is done they will be installed in place of the current 454 and SM465 that it came with.
Then will come a rearend rebuild with a better limited slip and regear to match the new transmission ratios.

I won't be lowering mine as I would rather put that money into another project vehicle.

So far we have gone from 100% stock everything under hood...

That's really cool I love old paperwork. I can't help but notice it's from BC is it a Canadian truck then?
