I have a Lotos TIG/Plasma cutter. It works pretty good on 110. I've been looking into making a 220 extension cord for it. Then I can work on teaching myself how to TIG weld...lol

Progress report on the lift install. Got started on it a lot later than I wanted to as I had put that other Dodge parts truck up for sale on the 26th and was waiting for the buyer to show up yesterday. Was only five hours late or so, but was able to sell that truck for $700 (I bought it for $400, took the front clip, replaced it with a crappier one from the other parts truck, also included a bunch of spare parts with it). That is a bit of a story for another thread I think though.

Ended up beginning on it around 7pm and got home at 4:30am Got some rearranging to do at the shop. I went with a 9K lb extra tall/wide/long unit and its about 10 foot wide. I think I will be moving the sandblaster over to the other side of the shop. Some might say I have too much stuff. :)

Other than the physical size of most of the parts it is pretty straight forward to assemble. Gantry crane really helped with this.

I converted the electric stove 30 amp circuit to 220 from the breaker box so I could run these. I bought a 50 ft extension chord to reach the driveway. For what I need, these two are more than adequate. Purchased the right size wire, box and thick rubber gloves for the install.

Got everything torqued and double checked, leveled it with a stick rule and laser level, within a 32nd of an inch corner to corner. Then tried it out:

Then put on what will be the first project, my friends 2005 2500. Will be receiving a Dynatrac free spin kit, new ball joints, axle shaft seals, a Yukon limited slip in the rear and new seals back there. And new battery lugs/military terminals.

Pulled the fill plug off of the front diff and found parts of the carrier on the magnet... and it was pretty low on fluid...

Got this in November and I'm impressed.

This thing has gotten a bunch of problematic light strands working.

Yeah, I know, not as impressive as a plasma cutter or even a socket set. But it does make a no-fun job a lot easier.

I take the easier approach. If a light goes out and half the strand doesn't work, I just pitch the strand and use a new strand, lol.

GF got me a couple things for Xmas:

- One of those rubber hardware/mechanics mats

- This thing is awesome, already saved my butt today being able to work 180* under the frame rail from up top changing my motor mount. They also have a shorter one I plan to pick up

- One of these new Dewalt storage/packout things. The drawers are gonna be so nice vs the suitcase style I’ve had in the past

That's great for just strands, but I've got a fair amount of stuff that's pre-lit. I'm not tossing the garland and tree because of bad shunts or a few bulbs.
