What new tools have you got lately?

@Ricko1966 Mixed results for the Bauer tool. The nylon roller removes layers of paint fairly well on full speed but not as well as I expected. I had 6 different colors so probably 12-16 coats to get down to metal which was still a lot of work and time, more than I care to spend. I then tried the 40 grit roller, removed material at a much slower rate so I didn’t stay with it for long. What I didn’t like most is the deeper end gouge when you were pulling it back and forth. To keep it even you have to lift on/off. IDK, maybe some higher quality rollers could even it out. After using it and considering the cheap paint I plan to use, I decided to go with 80 grit on the DA for roughing it up for the six more coats of paint and primer. Also, since it’s the brush electric motor, it slows down every few minutes, not sure why it does this other than reduced wear and tear on the motor. Air file was used to on the filler material low spots. Once I got down to bare metal I found some previous rust repair which needed to be repaired properly. I spent about 4 hours on this door which included removing and sanding paint, patch and fill/sand.

Loosen the drain plug like normal, but leave it in. The end opposite the handle has a flat upright that will hit the plug and spin it and a magnet so that when the plug comes out it stays on the tool.

26 bux. My guy used to keep them on his truck but quit seeing much demand for them, so he had to order me one.

The general service techs ( oil changes and such) use them and I thought it was a great idea. I have used a magnetic pick up tool to get a few plugs out of my pan but never had a way to keep my fingers from getting singed before.

I use this over a 5 gallon bucket to catch my drain plug AND filter. And the bucket is semi transparent with liquid measurement marks so I know how much came out. My drain plug is stainless so a magnet does me no good.

Having more money in tools than all your vehicles combined isn't a problem, it's.... necessity. You know, so you can work on said vehicles and such. At least that's what I tell my wife!
