What new tools have you got lately?

I currently have a 30 lb jug of R12 in my storage room. I'll probably never use it. I wish I could find someone who needs it enough to buy it.....

Hope you're willing to let it go for a reasonable price. Then someone might find an urgent need.

The thing is 99% of people with an old rigs, it seems like they are already retrofitted or they choose to retrofit when they hear the price for the R12. I doubt we will buy anymore as it is so slow moving.

Right, and if looks are a concern for a stock resto, you just use the conversion fittings that don't require removal of the stock schrader valves. Then remove the fittings once the system is charged.

For anyone that might not know there is at least some potential that a guy could loose his refrigerant certification doing that if caught. Also a label is suppose to be put under the hood stating the shop name, refrigerant and oil type used. But what happens after the car leaves the shop? Hand the guy the label so he can place it where he wants (the garbage) and leave the fittings finger tight. I've never been asked to do that by the way. They have either been fine with the fittings staying on the car, or wanted the R-12. Only a few cars we get would I describe as a stock resto, most are various conditions of drivers.

Rob, I'd be willing to trade my jug of R12 for a valve adjustment. Just saying...........;-) Of course by the time you drove over here and back you could almost by a new one now a days. LOL

I haven't known of anyone even trying to use r12 in probably 15 years.

You can still sell the small cans for $25 a can. I still have 1.

My shop yearly budget enabled me to purchase this AC dual recovery machine. Around 10 grand. Mostly everywhere you look a good dual recovery machine is at least 11 grand , I like R12 … I like systems that still run it . My chevelle will go back to R12 as long as I can still get the stuff . Same with the 85 square R12 wish I had more of the stuff ! But the cost of it and everything is super expensive. the last 134 30lb cylinder I bought was on sale at Carolina international.. for 135.00
The 1234YF is way to expensive in my opinion. Just a money racket government scheme!

Good to hear! I've used my Earthquake XT battery 1/2" impact a few times now, same story. Does everything I ask it to so far!

My box finally came in last Monday, picked it up on Wednesday All I did was unload it and inspect it on Wednesday, had too much to do on the truck to get it to the Atlanta stop of Power Tour. So Saturday I came up here and started cleaning up my mess from the thrash and started tinkering on the box. I pulled the vertical trim off, painted it semi-gloss black and put 2 layers of fabric tape in the insert area of each handle. Then got all moved in after reinstalling the trim. I've gotta say, I really like the box but I wish it was 24.5" deep like my Sunex was instead of 22", I'm actually shocked at how full it is already. Good thing you can add onto these like Legos. I'll probably jack it up and disassemble/paint the wheels and brackets next.
