So I am sure you all know to disconnect the negative battery cable first and reconnect it last. Once in a while you might just want to tighten one loose positive cable.

Certainly not my electrical person. Medium duty and heavys are built at the factory as an incomplete unit. Then they are sent to an upfitter where the body, and in this case, the crane are installed.

This the handy work of the upfitter. Definitely makes swapping out worn batteries a challenge. If I was swapping batteries, I would re-dress the cables at that time.

Do these generally go bad? I found one in either an auction-almost-junk-collections Or just a completely random place for one, and my gpa Has a nice torch set and he used it a lot since he was professional metal worker, but to me the throwing one away(prob older than both of us lol) seems strange unless it failed. The hoses were cut on the bottom so not sure what went on there.

Unless destroyed ie, crushed, cut or bent, no they are fixable. The brand names are anyway, Victor, Smith Harris. Though parts are becoming hard to find and because of liability not readally avilable to the public consumer.

Just recently bought a "blast out of the bucket" kit from eastwood. I paid up for it, 50 bucks. I picked it because it has replaceable ceramic tips. F me. It may have replaceable tips but the Chineese casting for the venturi does not suck. Changed out the gun for a flea market find and it sucks! My advice is to not online a kit of this type. Buy local and if the casting is bad, take it back and get another. Customer service at eastwood leaves a lot to be desired even after i wrote them a $hitty review.

Finally made my "new tool" trip to Harbor Freight. Thought today was a good day to do it.
Bought a few new tools.
Got a whole big set of battery tools, figured it was time to convert from corded.

Got a 1/2 inch impact, 3/8 impact, 1/4 inch hex impact, regular drill driver, grinder, a charger, a few extra batteries, and big bag to hold them all. All Bauer brand
Also got some other things I really needed.

Do yourself a favor...Go buy some of the tire filler from Wal-Mart, and replace the air in your 10 inch tires you have there. I can't remember the name of the stuff, it's like a green slim stuff. I put it in my HF tires 3 years ago. They have never gone flat.

I bought those for my engine stand. Bought a nice newish one at the flea market a few weeks ago for 40$, but it didn't have any wheels. Figured I could weld those to it, that way it can go over dirt and grass without getting stuck, like the little tiny metal wheels on my other stand do.

Be careful with that. If you just weld them to the bottom of the rails, I think it will be very easy to tip over with an engine on it. It may be worthwhile to weld on some outriggers, so the new wheels can mount beside the rails.

Those drill bits are cheap but the sher number and sizes make them a very good value especially for softer metals but I did drill some frame holes with them on my trailer whihc was a 79 c20 frame when I mounted the jack with 2 wheels, also from HF. The extensions for the impacts, big ones, are good. The vinyl tape may leave some to be desired but they may also be good.

The power tools I hear are rather decent given their price point.

Tire slime? Nice new wheels with decent coatings and stuff, not a bad idea especially if the Wheels were made with sloppy tolerances at all.

Good point. I planned on making it wider, and also cutting down the height of it so it's not as tall, because the wheels are going to make it about 8in taller.

Lol, your idea is much simpler than mine. Just cutting the height down should do the job just fine.
