Finally bought myself a drill press. It needs a little work, but for 20 bucks, I couldn't pass it up. It's going to be awesome having a drill press around finally.

Wife dragged me along slummin' AKA yard sale browsing yesterday and found a few goodies. Spent a total of $11.75 on these bargains. All 3/8 and 1/2 stuff. Didn't need any of it but those breaker bars could make so nice 'tire' thumpers!!!:signs6:

Purchased a new Torque wrench in anticipation of an engine rebuild since the clicker in my old one quit clicking. Bought this brand as one of the members here @Arkansas_V8 gave a good review of some of their tools he had purchased. Seems well made so we shall see!

FibreMetal, correct?

Yes Sir, Only thing I like to use, and been using them since the 80's. Now I have 2, lol. Have an old Huntsman here at the shop, have had it and used it for years but never got to where I like it. My old sugar scoop hood is in the truck which through moving tractors and getting wheat planted is now left down on the job, the pens I'm building. This new one was in the store today so figured I'd grab it. Now I have to build me to square shoulder bolts for the head gear and a couple 1/4 inch wing nuts, the new Fiber Metal head gear ain't what it once was.

I recently picked up a few "new" tools

First, I picked up a DeWalt jig saw, a few hand planers, and 2 chisels. Total cost $5.00. I bought the jig saw for $5 and they threw in the other stuff for free.

Next is a Jancy USA-5 mag drill. For $275. I don't know how I went so long without one. Its my new favorite tool.

And lastly, I picked up a DeWalt right angle drill for $75.

All the power tools and most of the hand tools are Made in the USA.

Nice pick. I would love to have a mag-drill. Seems like it's one of the few things that I don't have. That and a portable band-saw.

I would only suggest that putting planes down on their blades on concrete is probably not the best.

Just out of curiosity, what are those planes worth? I have some that my Dad left me and They are pretty old and in real decent condition. When I say old, they gotta be over 100 years old, I'm 71 and he had them way before me!!.......insert old fart comments here.....

Just googled "100 year old planing tools" to see and saw that article. Might be a good start. Of course, they would only be what someone is willing to pay for them.

Thanks Patrick, good info. Will have to check what I have. May have to share the wealth!!
I do have loads of planing tools, a bunch from the 50s/60s when my gpa was starting out. Beings he really loved his woodwork, he kept his originals and collected more over the years and used them often until the late 2000s
