If you are going to use it as is was intended to be used, you should put in a high torque motor, meaning a low RPM cam, as you need lots of low RPM torque, not high end horsepower. I would stay away from LT1, LS engines, and other Hi Po engines, as they are mainly RPM engines. Now if you just want to look kool, then an LS is worth considering, as you can put a carb and a distributor on them, dispensing with the need for computers on your classic non-computer truck.Hey y’all, I’m not sure what type of motor to put in my 1978 K25. I want to upgrade as the current motor does have a lot of issues. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
