Thanks Andy. Could this have anything to do with TPS sensor and/or IAC valve? I replaced these early on in the dive in to this all, before the TBI was rebuilt. Do I need to set base idle? Should I do the A-B port jump trick on OBD1 to get the IAC valve needle where it needs to go?...or is it too late for that? @Redfish Andrew, I know you must have a thought of what could be next here maybe? I will be checking Brian Harris' website. Think ITwo things come to mind. Either your vacuum leak was bad enough that it affected your throttle position in relation to rpm (your trans uses rpm and throttle angle to determine shift points) or they moved the throttle bracket when tightening your intake bolts and then re-adjusted your T.V. cable.

it's possible I could get in touch with him on the phone somehow?
I am stoked it is running for sure don't get me wrong. Sound advice as always. I'm sure they would oblige a ride along to experience and go from there. Thanks Andrew!I have...thoughts.
1. If it started after the shop fixed your biggest problem (it didn't run!) then it is related to either the fix or some adjustment they made. That adjustment was either accidental or intentional.
2. You were just singing the praises for this shop (as well you should) so if I were you I would start with them. If they found something that none of the very knowledgeable folks on this forum suspected, they must be pretty good. Bring it back to them, let them ride with you or drive it themselves. See what they think. It may be something simple, it may be something expensive. But if they can make it run correctly they can probably make it shift correctly.
3. I am still just super happy you got that beautiful truck running again so I have not focused on your shifting issues as a priority. Sorry for that.
TPS position only affects TCC lockup on a 4L60 with TBI. Shifts are very much controlled by the TV cable. I'd ask the shop if they made any adjustments to it when they tightened the intake manifold. Thanks Andy. Could this have anything to do with TPS sensor and/or IAC valve? @Redfish Andrew, https://harristuning.com/Tbi/recommended-350-tbi-mods/ does have a lot of info on these systems as you have told me. Maybe this goes back to my exhaust as well...
@bucket Andy, have you ever seen Brian Harris' harristuning.com website?
Was it stuff you bake for high heat? VHT has you do that at 200° for an hour.Rust oleum hood underside and some associated parts. Used some enamel hardener this time.
No, it’s an isocyanate activator mixed 8:1 which hardens the oil based enamel paint. Was it stuff you bake for high heat? VHT has you do that at 200° for an hour.
