Im curious, i need to know. whats that mean?
If it's a timed unit, it just has an adjustment for the amount of delay there is, for it to apply the brakes after you have triggered the brake light switch.
If it's a proportional type, it uses some type of gyro sensor to apply the needed amount of braking voltage. Most every controller of this type needs to be mounted within a certain range around level front to rear and as level as possible for side to side.
