Citristrip the door and kick panels, arm rests, door straps and trim. Also, the drip rails. I now have to figure out the path forward for refurbishing and what I am gonna buy new, hopefully not much because it’s crazy expensive and I’m a cheap SOB. I’m looking forward to getting some of this back together so I can reduce clutter around the garage and house.

Replaced the 40 year old trash bag + decaying insulation mess on the rear interior panels with a self-adhesive, closed cell foam. And yes, I reinstalled the scraps of cut up plastic bumper which I use as clamps to keep the rear 4”x10” speakers firmly in place against the cardboard panel… It works, so I feel no shame.

I will share more photos in another post sometime, but I am rounding home on a sound deadener and heat/sound insulation overkill project on my ‘84 Jimmy. Getting married this month so I am racing to get the rear interior buttoned up so we have the Jimmy for a getaway car.

They have to be obs trucks. I guess it could possibly be 87-91 but I swear they weren't j hooks. I was going to try the obs arms next.

Do these ones flip up and stay up? For cleaning the windshield?

I'm guessing it was just one part number? The reason I say that is the drivers side looks about the right length but the passenger side looks long on an obs.

They come up as FORD parts!!!!!!!

Got rid of the Choo Choo and made this orange thing out of 3" exhaust and a water pump nipple. I had refound the breather can and tube/boot in a box recently so I decided it was time lol.

Latest thing I did to my truck:(

Not on purpose of course! Too much birch firewood on a rather “rough” forestry road and this is what you get I guess.

Wish me luck on getting the bolt out of the leaf eye!!

I removed the inside bed side spare tire carrier, two bolts were stubborn so I had to get creative with a drill, side cutter, chisel and hammer…..more welding now needed for the mounting holes.

And….the fun hasn’t stopped. I was delirious that I could spray the box inside this weekend, probably in a month or so, this was definitely a Frankenstein working truck which I believe hauled a gorilla that hungered for Swiss cheese. The bed is pretty hammered and a lot more holes to weld. I looked like buckwheat again after doing the right side. I did the left months ago, still shiny with zero rust, that’s a good indicator of humidity out west. The new Pantina!

That's another reason I use a spreader to break loose the lower ball joint. Smashing a finger with a hammer is never fun.

Got some cheap tips on the temporary exhaust for the 79. Much better. If you aren't running tips you're missing out!
