That's hilarious like every square around here has em (I'm in spokane) My truck is a work truck and has been it whole life, so it has always made sense to me that they're on there.

I hate mine and will get rid of them one day...

Other than some previous general cleaning, this was my first time rolling up my sleeves on my blue 1987 regular cab dually (R3500/C30).

This weekend I; 1) wrapped the door strikes with electrical tape (until I score some blue PEX), 2) cleaned out an old rodent nest that was buried behind the speaker enclosure by the driver’s side cab corner, 3) removed all the bed bolts so I can take the bed off, hopefully next weekend.

Since I have to replace both gas tanks/senders/etc., and give the brakes/fluids/lines all a good “once-over”, it seemed like I might as well yank the bed for now, to make those projects a little easier. I’m looking forward to spending very little time on a creeper, good Lord willing and the creek don’t rise!

Had to put a new choke cable on mine this weekend…went to crank it up, pulled the choke and it came off in my hand. If I had to guess it’s been on there since ‘84..lol

Pressure washed the last few months worth of mud off and gave the rig a spit shine the driver door got pelted pretty good from all the mud and rocks and of course the rain returned also drove down to the local car show yesterday and seen some friends from out of state didn't spend much time at the show since I had my dog with me busting out the welder out soon as the rain clears up

Edit- just ordered some shorter spark plugs and need to get those boot protectors on there that I’ve had forever.

Had three buddies over to help align all the front cap, hood gaps.
Things are much easier when one works in a body shop................

Hopefully, making a trip to the exhaust shop tomorrow.
Got new exhaust system installed today with new Magnaflow mufflers.
Me like !!

Redid the wires for the stereo and put in new amp. The op dumped atf on the old amp and burned it up. Found out that one of the rca wires isn't working. So for now only one speaker works in back and one under the dash. Better than it was but need a new deck. Probably get a new Kenwood from Walmart next weekend. Better than it was. Lol

get one that has USB in the back so you can custom mount a USB port with your tunes when the radio stations suck arse.

[edit] are those subs mounted on the back of the cab? I'd like to get rid of the "truck" sub cuz I could use the space for tools and hunting gear.

The new Kenwood has USB/BT/CD player and XM ready. So I'll be able to listen to it all. Lol
I don't go hunting so I'd rather have a nice sound system. I'll be getting rid of those and build my own sub box. They were the po speakers.

I took the box off with the intent of cleaning and painting the frame...the weather hasn't cooperated so I found a few other items requiring attention. New rear brakes (including new stainless brake lines once frame is painted), new fuel tanks, and replacing all the cab mounts.
Seems like one thing leads to another...how do you know when to stop?
