Doing brakes and bearings on the front of the C10 this last weekend...... I found the source of that strange, intermittent, low speed clunk-clunk. Looks like I have one of those fancy new Bluetooth sway bars. New bushings came in the mail yesterday, so that'll be one more thing fixed on the new daily...... after I figure out this sudden starter issue that popped up leaving work tonight. :(

Water pump needed replacement so I figured while I'm at it I might as well clean up the front of the engine...timing cover gasket and seal getting replaced too.
Intake manifold cleanup and new gaskets is on the "to do" list as well but won't happen this weekend.

Mine did that too, it reached a rate of 1 drop every 2 or 3 seconds when cold and parked, but with intentionally depressurized radiator cap so it would not squirt coolant when hot and building pressure. With radiator cap sealed it would lose a liter or two after parking and stop. I believe that when in a summer I lost coolant and water pump run dry for a minute or two it destroyed it's seals. I'll open it to see what's the damage inside.

Whats goiing on with that hood would love see some more pics of it looks awesome sause...
Those are all the AC vent channels. I completely stripped the interior And under dash. Originally an AC truck, but did the delete and am just going with defrost when I get it all back together. Once I figure out how to do a build thread I’ll post more pics.

Once I got home.from work I opened the pick back up on a real computer not my work p.o.s. and I realized my error. We might be doing something way different than anyone has ever seen as far as a paint scheme. Have to maybe figure in some hood scoops. Do not like the current offerings on the market.

I finally put my dash back together and installed my new to me manual throttle control, I’m pretty happy with how it all turned out.

@nvrenuf , What gauges are those? I have ever seen them before. Interesting that they pop out instead of being recessed like factory bezzle gauges.

Today, I’m not working on the truck per se, but shopping. I have headers picked out (I think), and currently am working on a solution for the front rally wheels that are a constant issue with the tubular control arms. About six months later, the stick on weights that was a solution have gone by the way of the dodo bird, probably laying on the shoulder of the road somewhere. I might go back to wheel weights on the rim again, and try to clearance the ball joint area a little more since I have more to play with. I was on my way to a longer drive for testing when the front end started vibrating and I found the issue.

A guy at the morning meeting offered me a couple 17x8 torque thrust wheels for cheap since he sold his C10, so I’m considering picking them up and completing the set. They’re not my favorite, but not the worst I’ve seen either.

I spent some time searching the local Facespace and found a guy with a set of rallies, two of which are 15x7 and would be my solution of choice. But I’m not sure if he is willing to split the set. I’ve reached out to him and I’ll see what he says.

Also on the list is a conversion to the 73-80 front fender wells since it does rub pretty bad if I hit a bump at full lock.

I’m currently looking for a compact solution for a jack to be stored behind the seat, scissor jack, or maybe a small standard jack. I’ll toss in a small stand as well, and going to buy a couple tool rolls from Hobo Freight for compact tool storage. I want to try to eliminate anything (except a spare tire) to be carried in the bed.

As an aside, my wife is an Etsy shopper, and found this a/c block off plate that looks pretty good.

But mostly, I’m single minded in getting prepared for reliability and ground clearance for going anywhere I want this summer. I’ve been holding back lately, mostly because I may have needed the funds to help relocate my ailing mom to an affordable home, and it’s been a long and stressful process. I’m cautiously optimistic that she is going to be ok financially and I can resume my plans now.
