Didn't want to start a thread, and the wiring diagram isn't helping. 84 burban manual windows and locks.

This is a tan wire, not brown, not yellow. The pic is bad. It has a quick connect that's kinda on top of the fuse lock, that runs into the main harness, that looks like it goes to the instrument panel harness.

But also the strange part. It runs into the kick panel grommet for the dome light door jamb switch, on the drivers side. It's meant to be there, it has a two wire plug.

Now that im typing this, I think it's for the door ajar light, if it woulda even had that in 84. Would the door jamb switch had a dual plug setup? But even then, why would the door ajar need a quick disconnect?? Unless it's for the mechanics? lolol

The wiring diagram doesn't show a tan or door ajar. Even if it was brown, I don't have an ecm. The one tan says oil pressure switch, but that wouldnt run into the door jamb.

You need to start a thread.

That pic looks like it's yellow wire. I'm not saying you're wrong, but there's people here who actually know about this stuff.

Try asking them.

It's not yellow. It's not that big of a deal, was just curious.

I believe the tan wire on the driver door switch was for the key and light buzzer. The white wire was for the dome lights.

That would make sense. I just didn't know they had a dual plug dj switch. That makes sense why it would have a disconnect then. Definitely for the shops. Like I said as far as I can tell it goes to the instrument cluster. So it lines up, didn't see that on the diagram either lol. Thanks bucket!

Por15 the inner box supports which I just patched. I also pushed out a few dents on the driver side box panel. PO stuck some bondo in the deep dent which was separating from the metal. I was able to get at it from the upper tiny access near the tail gate latch.

Zooming in on the photo, looks like a factory connector. So, for context, was it already cut and laying there? Or did something change that made you go looking for it?

I agree, these wire colors at this age aren’t particularly helpful, I’ve had ones that were “blue” that morphed into a green with age, e.g.

I can get out my old GM manual this morning and poke around in the ‘84 Burb section. sometimes a second set of eyes helps.

Factory connector throughout, I just cut out the section that goes through the kick panel grommet, since it is unused for me. The bare terminal was unconnected in the kick panel. I had my domes and courtesy lamps just barely lighting the leds, I was chasing that and found this. It's definitely solid tan.

I almost trimmed the spacers for my front shocks as well. Then I realized that the tabs were slightly bent inward. Gently pried the tabs back straight and the shock slipped right into place. Easy as putting socks on a rooster!

That was on the bottom mount though, I didn't have any issue with the top.

Cleaned it up and drove it to BigUn/Mrs. Redfish's 40 year Class Reunion. We thought it might be fun to take the '87 to a Class of '83 Reunion but honestly we were inside the building and have no clue if it got any looks or not. A few folks recognized it and spoke to us about it.

I have to say the pic isn't her best but...

It was the front upper mount I just went off the spacer thickness from the shock I took off either way it's riding really good didn't think a leaf spring truck could ride so good
