Gotta clean up the wires. And just for the hell of it I tried to roll down the window on drivers side and that mf went down. Haha it wouldn't budge before I thought the motor went out. I still have two new motors fir them the passenger side still doesn't move.

Took a load of scrap metal to the recycler, then came home and finished assembling the LMC tach kit. Need some more twist bulb sockets for the back, but went together without issue. Just wish LMC would include all of the necessary screws- was short a couple, even with reusing mine.
That looks beautiful, How much was the tac kit?? I want to put a tac in all my squares eventually.

I think it was just under 400. I made a mistake and order one for my truck that used the electronic speedometer backing plate so I had to order another one that worked with a speedometer cable. It was expensive but it works good, was easy overall, and looks really nice.

Don't know if this counts but I just replaced distributor rotor on our 99 suburban. Wife was complaining about it missing and bucking. Broken rotor and carbon trail city. Cleaned up cap changed rotor and runs good again.

I could see how that mix-up could happen.

I did that "1987" plate for two reasons.
1. When people approach me at gas stations, store parking lots, at red lights, they always start off with "What year is that truck?". While I love the conversation starter, I thought that might help.

2. At car shows I always see a few vehicles that leave me wondering "Exactly what year model is that?" I know enough to get pretty close but sometimes it would be nice to have some indication of EXACTLY what year a vehicle might be.

I have seen too many vintage car owners get offended because some friendly person did not know the exact year of their vehicle. Never made a lot of sense to me but everyone handles their car show vehicles with different attitudes.
I get it, Andrew.
I wore my new "NO ! My truck is not done yet !" T-shirt to the cruise in last night.
Saved me from explaining to at least a couple folks.........

The vortec 4.3/5.0/5.7/7.4 are all picky about caps an rotors. Next time it needs replaced get a set with brass contacts. I've had better luck with those. For some reason that style distributor is bad to collect moisture an the brass doesn't seem to be bothered by it so much.
