Got my center caps cut and installed on H2 wheels..yall like em? I'm indifferent about the look.. complete new drag link installed and 1" tie rods are waiting on the bench for warmer weather. Now I have locking hubs to chase down. Have the D44 up front but have the larger spicer locking hub? Think this axle came out of a one ton even though it's a 44..I've read that some 1 tons came with the D44 and larger spicer, in early years?
Also, those 6 bolts, whether Allen or hex head, tend to back out during wheeling. I almost lost a hub. I made some flat pieces of metal, like a washer, with a small tab to bend over the side of the hex bolt on my hubs so the bolts couldn’t back out.

Great advice! Ive had a couple back out on me and wondered how I could remedy it. Thanks!!

I had the HD Dana44 a couple years ago. The axle tube is a little bigger in diameter. The inner hub bearing is a little bigger. Those locking hubs are called external locking hubs. The other common ones are called internal. I’m not sure about yours but my dana44 was still compatible with all other dana44/10 bolt axles not dana60s. I’m almost certain those warn hubs for a 60 will not work with your application. I bought the warm 9072 hubs.

I’m pretty sure these are what you need. Hope that helps
These are the hubs I run on my 44, other than pulling them out and cleaning them up, they have been faultless. My other 73 K10 with the ten bolt has the 1/2 turn, and have lived a very hard life offroad working like a slave, towing and my, main firewood getter. All that to say, the warn hubs STILL work excellent!

I have been working on the 6.2 Detroit in the 85C20. Injection pump bad, so shipped off to a re builder I prefer, and got it back. Installed with all lines hooked up but one on top easy to get to but so far no fuel out of the pump. So now I am going step by step through the whole system, a learning curve. But found all the info from Chevrolet service manuals with all the tests, and have an excellent Fluke meter, so....Also HEI pickup puked (again) on the K20/454. Had a MSD billet dizzy, and found a new msd 6al, and will replace that when it gets here. While I have run the HEI for years, I have had problems (more then one rig) with the internals going out at the most inopportune time.

Got it running! It kinda died on me a month or so ago, haven’t had a lot of time or ambition (-40 below wind chills will do that to a fella…) to tinker lately. But the boy and I worked on the Peterbilt this morning and decided to get the ‘77 out of the snowbank. It quit getting fuel, so we isolated the tanks and pump to try to figure out where the problem was. Ran like a champ off of a gas can thru the pump, so we figured the pickup on the tank was plugged. Got that sorted out, a few new hoses and fuel filter, she’s back to tooling around on her own power! Lol!

After 21 years, I can finally lock my doors & be able to get back in. Ordered a matching set of door locks & ignition cylinder from Classic Parts in Missouri. 1 key fits all. 23.95 + 9.95 shipping = 33.90. About 1 hour to swap everything out. Now all I have to do is put it all back together.

Got some time to work on it today. Got sick of wet sanding so cut and polished a couple panels so I can say I got part of the paint finished, lol.

Attempted Sunday to take the oil pressure sending unit off - was going to see if maybe there was some crud in the inlet.

All I can say is - HOW?

I got a wrench on the nut portion and the sender and the brass tube portion seemed like they were turning.

Maybe so, but I sure did not want to take a chance of breaking it.

Tried later with 2 wrenches but gave up - legs, knees, and calves were getting sore from being in tight quarters under the hood.

I think the cruise vacuum pull takes up a lot of the visibility- and the real estate- from where I need to see what is happening.

:sad72:

Haha. Just kidding.

Fixed the front end a bit on my 78 c10. Took my 75 blazer core support and the existing 78 one, took all the best parts from both and made one nice one. I took the whole core support apart, added the upper grill trim piece, the lower valance, the LH headlight, bucket, and spring, bezels, blinkers, and bolted the hood hinges, and bolted the hood on.
Also put a few dozen more bolts in the whole thing, cause the wind was tearing the thing apart, haha.

Was thinking of taking the bumper of, and put on a slightly less twisted one, and maybe add a set of bumper tusks just for fun.
Plan on put the door glass and vent windows back in, maybe throw a seat in it.
Also have to put the bumper and taillights in.
