This past week I installed the 3rd intake manifold metal gasket (long stories......). Installed the inner valve springs after break in, and my Dad rebuilt a good old fashioned quadrajet for this baby, she runs beautiful now and has some serious power.

I took it for a spin with my dad, I just could not wait anymore, many this 455 Rocket makes this baby haul @ss!!! Sure is fun, can't wait to dial the rest of it in and get it on the road for good!

Since I had to fire it up today, I made another video of it, and since I like to make noise I had the headers opened up on it. Here it is with the new carb.

Well I bought a C10 the other day off a guy for $350.
Took all my good leftover parts from my K20 project and assembled it. Put in a new tear axle, shocks, leaf springs (C20s), and some wheels I had. Bolted down the cab, put in a brake booster, hooked up the pedal and the lines, and bled it, and it put in the steering column so it would steer.
Put on the bed, doors, core support, fenders, hood, grill, bezels, and bumper. Got it looking like a truck again.
Still have to put in the rear glass, door glass, seats, visors, door cars, headlights, valance, taillights, tailgate, and rear bumper, but I ran out of day.
Also have a 283 and th350 to put in it, that I bought with it, but the guy hasn't delivered it yet.
Heres a before and after...

Did that all today, by myself might I mention. Did that all with no help.

Even had to make a trip to town that took a few hours, so not too bad.

So, my only exterior mirror is this tiny "peep mirror" from the PO. I want to improve my visibility, and this driveway mirror was just lying around the shop... What ya' think? Pretty fly?

Cool thanks! Not that I can make any money being a youtuber though, but I appreciate it. I post up videos for fun, and they sound better through youtube anyhow.

@idahovette to be honest, I "kinda" could not wait any longer the other day, and I may have taken it for a hell of a spin :driver:

On Saturday once it was warmed up and we had the carb dialed in, I said to my Dad "I gotta take it for a spin"....to which he said "I'm coming with!!" So, it scraped going out of the driveway, oh well. Got it on the road and let it shift, kept it at 35 to 40mph (40 zone here anyhow).

When I swung it around down the road I opened up the headers on it and my Dad was just grinning, so when it hit 2nd gear I stood on it hard! The rear-end let loose on it so I was steering to keep it straight while still floored, then got traction and it took off like a "Rocket" one might say. My Dad's comment was "holy sh!t you gotta be kidding me" followed by him laughing, he stated this 455 Olds never had that kind of power (he used to have this engine, even before I could drive).

So then we went down the road the other way and I drove it nice this time, until we came back and I got on it again just for fun. I think my ears are still ringing....

I finally installed my adapter style steel wheel spacers from motorsport tech. I had to pull the axles to install longer wheel studs for proper thread engagement. Looking forward to my first test drive in spring.
