anyone else notice Loctite bought the "Naval Jelly" name? I haven't seen it in about 20 years. Might be just in my area though....I'm on the front 40 of the sticks lol.

Changed the passenger side vent window on the spare doors to put on the truck. Man what a bitch. 3 beers, 4 breaks, and some tylenol for my right hand cramping/locking up.

Why doesn't someone make a large can opener type deal to press these damn things in place in less than 2 minutes (teeth on the frame, rollers on the seal). Heat up the rubber in hot water, put some glass cleaner for lube.....crank it in there....good grief lol.

One thing I forgot to mention I found at that antique store was this set of 1974 Illinois license plates.

I also found a single 1951 plate for the Studebaker.

yeah i came across a few older Arizona plates today for my '80 from Arizona originally, i passed because they weren't old enough; they were the 2008 and up style, not the '73-'80 style i'm looking for. Lucky find on your part

Tore apart the front suspension to swap springs. When I bought the truck last year, I rebuilt all the suspension and steering cuz it was worn out. The truck had 2.5” McGauphys spindles with stock springs with 1 coil cut and a flip kit. I swapped in big block c20 springs with 1 coil cut, added Belltech SPs and it rode much better.

Fast forward to the LS swap being done, it now rides like **** cuz the LS is about 150lbs lighter up front and also the nose came up about an inch from where it was. I could feel every little crevice and pebble on the road. So I swapped the small block springs back in and also trimmed the passenger side to help offset the lean from the tank/battery/me being on the left. It rides so much better now, much smoother. Need to pop the passenger spring back out and trim another 1/4 coil or so cuz it’s still ~1/2” higher on that side but it’s much better.

Then when I got home, my new Belltech SPs had come in for the rear. I put the 2208s (4-6” drop) on last year and tried to use relocators but they were too short, wouldn’t work. So I just put them back in the stock location. Haven’t been happy with the way the rear road either, it “slaps” too much, there’s just not enough control of the movement.

I really like Belltech shocks, so I looked on their website and found the 2212 which is a 0-2” drop. There’s not one in between. So I took a gamble knowing they could be entirely too long. Turns out they fit great and should work great! With the extensors installed, the shocks have about 4” more compression past where they’re at for ride height and droop probably 5” as well. Haven’t driven it yet but I’m excited to tomorrow.

Old vs new. Old is fully extended, new can extend probably 5” from here.

removed the window tint on the 2nd door today.....in about 20 seconds!

Saw a trick on the web. spray both sides with ammonia, put in black trash bag, push trash bag against the window (helps hold the ammonia to the glass), let sit for one hour in the sun. Pull from bag and run a razor blade to remove the tint. Really I could have just used my hand instead of the blade lol.
