Going to install a new radiator and hoses on the 86 C10 today. An area NAPA had a radiator in stock I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box and it was an NOS brass and copper radiator not a plastic and aluminum one!

That must have been sitting around for a while! I bought a stock replacement from NAPA that was brass/copper in '01 or so. A few years later it was starting to rot out so I turned it in for warranty. The warranty replacement was aluminum/plastic.

Oil and filter change, new speedo cable, and now having some cold brews:party52: and polishing up parts of my spare Holley carb getting it ready for a rebuild. Had everything soaking in Chem-Dip for a week and seems in that length of time it removed most of the zinc chromate finish so needs some buffing done.:smokin:

I agree, the store owner was a very nice young lady, when I told her I was shocked when i saw the radiator wasn't aluminum she said her dad had owned the store for 30 years and believed in keeping lots of inventory. With the theory you cant sell it if you don't have it. She didn't know how long it had been there. I feel very fortunate to find it!

Finally got around to putting my flywheel dust cover on! Was able to avoid taking the oil filter off to get that too screw in, I was losing light and didn’t wanna mess with all that. Poor truck hadn’t had a cover on for years, the holes for the screws were packed full of grease and grit. When I got the truck it had this old school power switch in the glove box so I threw that on also.

Not sure if this counts as "my square' but its square related. :)

I was called upon to tear down a th350 for a friends k5, to evaluate the damages and get a parts list, it lost reverse, and sho enuff, as i suspected, the low/rev clutches were fried, and as an added bonus, the worn clutch plates wiped out the clutch center support, and a couple of the 2nd gear clutches were beginning to die due to a blocked off oiling hole.... because somehow the fwd planetary plastic thrust washer got chewed up and and melted, and sent plastic thru the trans lol .... and as a result of soon to be failed 2nd gear clutch pack.. their respective pressure plate got damaged.

The man's ordering parts tonight, and a complete overhaul kit. I also encouraged him to order a boost valve, and a deep pan. They wanna keep her mostly as is. No performance stuff. Not hard shifts etc.

side note- somehow the pump had mud in it? Lol wtf

It seems like someone has been inside it before, it had plastic checkballs, and a couple of fairly recent seals.

Another note to add... i could tell she sat for a period of time... the rotating assembly had rust in 1 spot on the transmission, and the clutches, and engine braking band showed pitting and cracks.

You can guess whos gonna be doing assembly.......

....yours truly.

Added side note (last pic) i replaced my burbs carrier bearing today.

I'm going to post this here...Don't know if he will see it or not. He is probably ignoring my posts...because of the little word exchange we had a couple few years ago.

@Rusty Nail I guess I owe you an apology, you said you responded to me asking you if you still wanted the 77 yellow trim. I said I never got it. We went back and forth a few times...words were said...names were called. I guess you had posted your replies to my front page? I didn't know about that front page, and when @animal said he checked on me while I was out and pointed me to the front page...I found your responses, along with a bunch of other messages I never got. So I sorry for not looking into it further.

The only flaw in your theory is that they can follow you on the road and get it when you park. They're more likely to go after someone driving an expensive car and living in a fancy house......

Towed my newly aquired 100$ chevy lumina, LITERALLY driven by an old lady to and from church on sunday.

Imma replace the ps pump and fix the coolant leak and drive that shitbox till it quits.

150k on the clock, new tires.
3.1L v6, fwd, 4 speed auto.

Cheap Daily's are so underrated by many and not understand but others??. I use to drive my wife's old Saturn till it dropped a cylinder, I suspected valve train damage but at the time had too many vehicles to do more trouble shooting than I did. It had like 230k on the clock and I just got what I could and ran. People made fun of it, I just laughed and said I'm getting 30mpg riding in the AC, tires cost literally like $100 for 2. I didn't care, drove my trucks when I wanted too and saved fuel driving the reliable saturn.
