Well this past weekend i had a lot of grocery store points to use on gas so i took advantage and got a full tank of 93 octane for $1.79/gal. I added VP maditive octane booster and took it on a 200 mile highway round trip. She was crankin!! On my way home i ran it almost empty and filled it back up with 93 non ethanol. Then i bought 5 gal of aviation fuel to put in it.
Cool I guess, but it's not boosted or blown so I'm struggling to see the benefits.

Ok so after thinkin... my grandfather was a diesel mechanic and i do remember seeing a pyrometer in his stuff that mom got... where and how would it be installed?

In the exhaust manifold,... or better yet, where the two exhausts merge if you have a single exhaust. Bit I'm. Perfect world one on each side.

Actually on an Uber-perfect world, one on each cylinder. But for a V8 two will do. You can install a switch to select which bank your gauge sees.

Just trying to make a granny feel like a prom queen and see if itll run better.

Drove her and remembered the water pump sounds like it needs a replacement soon. Been hearing an intermittent rattle. Keep forgetting to add that to the ever growing cart of things I haven't ordered yet. :33:

Maybe someone remind me in the next couple days so I don't have to pay extra shipping on it for a second order.;)

Is that the AV gas??
Yep, 115/145 was the good stuff. Not sure if you can get it anymore. I was an aircraft mechanic in the military. We used it when our planes were flying over water (when I was stationed in Okinawa). Under normal conditions stateside we ran 100/130 (the blue stuff).

Well, if you want to get in to an engineering exercise, then you need at least two pyrometers in the collectors.

For a street vehicle, I don't know how involved you want to get. Usually a stopwatch and a logbook with a significant amount of data works just as well.

Also snagged a picnic-basket style Colman cooler at the swap meet today. Been looking for an old cooler to throw in the back for club meets and stuff
