Haven’t technically done anything, but ordered a bunch of parts for the front end. Everything but the steering box. That will come later

I love the trucks but I'm in awe over the garage! I can't wait to get a house and build a garage..

I'm ready for armageddon, I installed a new radio antenna and did a tune up (Lashed valves, cleaned/gapped points, cleaned/gapped plugs, and cleaned up the carb).

I replaced my ashtray (dont smoke anymore) with a slick rocker switch plate I got from a guy on etsy then butchered it up some to put in the USB pass through plug which runs to the rear of my stereo for phone charging and such. Came out decent I feel except for the white super glue.

I’ve picked up almost 200 rpm for about a week now. Started looking around, sprayed a shot of carb cleaner here and there but didn’t have any luck. Finally found the problem.

On the back carb under the referenced power valve port. Looked good in appearance and guessing the other line was blocking the spray. Anyhow, the split was on the bottom so it couldn’t be seen. Third one I’ve replaced since last summer. Plastic looking ones that come in assorted sizes at Yo Rillys. IMO, cheap junk. Gonna call for some “real” caps and pick them up with the new curbside service they offer;).

While the hood was open thought might as well start cleaning. Looking at the front carb, you can see the blue (junk) cap. That’s the cap that split on the rear.

The water pump that was lightly dripping turned into big dripping, so got to change it. At least is 77 outside.
