I wish more tires were made in those sizes. I don't care for wide tires, but want the height. Bigger tires eat up hp and mpg. Also harder on suspension parts. Width isn't the only factor in traction anyway. Slimmer tires can also get good traction.

I actually never knew they made a 33 in a 9.50 till my sister brought home her lifted wrangler with them on it

The only 33 inch I know that can be gotten in a 10.50 width is the BF Goodrich AT's.

Yep, if the tire isn't bubbled, it sounds as if it has a badly rolled belt in it. I'd just rotate that one to the rear and run it til you're ready to replace the tires.

There should be a DOT serial # stamped on the tire. Usually the backside, so if it's a raised white leter tire, you know which is the back side. There is also a date code. The week # of the year made, and the year made.

If I have the right number - wow.

Finished the gear box change. The holes for the line fittings were different. I guess they make them so you don't have to use an adapter as well. Going to zip tie them together in a labeled zip-loc bag.

I made the mistake of taking the intermediate shaft (jeep) apart with out labeling how it was clocked. I had a 50/50 chance when I put it together....lol I was wrong. I went ahead and marked it with a wax pencil.

Straightened the wheel out also. Man the old one must have been wore out cuz the steering is really tight now....no play.

I had taken a fill to the inner fenders before I installed them a while back. Apparently not enough or I actually sharpened them lol. I've got 2 nice slices on knuckles.

Anyway, they still hold air, are great in the rain, and have some tread left but it is time.

BTW - is this a typo on the new tire spec page ?
How can they be 33's with a 35 diameter ...

So that should be a first week of 2006 tire. That's pretty damn old. Kinda consistent with the cracking too in the sidewall. Those tires sat for a long time. I've ran tires like that before. I just didn't do heavy weight with them and kept my speed down on real hot days. Wouldn't bother me to drive 70-75 in the cool winter weather, but not in the 95+ heat. Some people say 5 years max, I've seen some 7 and some say 8 years is max. I've driven on tires that were 15 years old before and got to drive them til the thread was worn down to 3/32 before I replaced them since it was a vehicle that wasn't driven much, and I wasn't buying new tires just to sit on the truck and rot. When I did finally repalce them, I got used tires from an ambulance company that replaced then when they got down to about 60% worn and that didn't take them but about a year, so I still had 4-6 years to wear out the other 40%. I'd get them for $20 each and they'd even mount and balance them for me in their shop. Tow Ops do have some perks too.

After seeing this about tire age i checked mine. The front tires are from 2011, my backs i didnt find the date and the ones on my suburban are from 2015. And my spare is from 2006, good thing it never gets used lol

getting ready to change out the flex plate. evidently having the torque converter loose and banging around breaks things; even for a short time. but it's all good, wanted to see what the top of the transmission looked like anyway. maybe paint some zebra stripes on it.

It definitely needs more gear.......I guess I could pull the front shaft and drive it in low range lol. Then again that would be to low.
