That's an older 327 or 283 block isn't it? Are you sure you're using the correct intake gaskets at the front and rear?

That's the original 1977 350, with ported 305 heads.

I did the head gaskets two years ago, all nighter, in the dead of winter, in a cold garage, just to get to work in the morning. I may not have been totally perfect with the silicone on the China walls.

I let the Permatex Ultra Black set up for half an hour this time, and plunked it down with pomp and circumstance.

Back on the road and through emissions yesterday after a year and a half as a driveway ornament. I have replaced the entire fuel system at this point. Need to tune it for driveability some more- seems OK but pretty sluggish compared to how I remember. Made it through emissions with good numbers, but that's a whole 'nother story.

Found the culprit for my previous intermittent fuel pressure issues... Sock on the sender had fallen off and it, along with a bunch of other random debris, were probably clogging the pickup on and off. Also had some REALLY deteriorated hoses back towards the tank. Holding steady at 6psi now, had been at 2 - 4 psi before all the work.

OK, it's been awhile for me, so maybe I'm thinking backwards. I see the gasket alignment holes at the front and rear ends of the intake. There is 2 different type of eng gaskets. One with the alignment pins and one without.

Huge conversion! C3500 Crew Cab Long Bed Dually to a K3500 Crew Cab Short Bed SRW!

Major props to ya for taking on that project. Super cool. Especially those 8 lug 5 slot mags!

New shoes on the 'Burb today, got a deal on a set of Cooper Discoverer RTX tires, HUGE improvement over the Pathfinder ATR tires that came off. The old set was date coded 2002, and was rock hard and cracked. I noticed a new softball-sized lump and bad sidewall cracking after driving to work yesterday, so it was straight to the shop this morning.

I've been playing with the tune on the Edelbrock the past few days, too, and it's really starting to wake up. 1411 electric choke 750, and WAY to lean for the 'Burb with the 454 in Edelbrock "Stock" tune. Strongest metering rod pull-off springs and next size up rods so far and it's still pretty flat and sluggish compared to the Q-jet.
