Heated is the only way to go with leather, I don't like having my ass on cold leather. I'd love to have memory seats, I would be way less anal about having my seat adjustment messed up I keep it very comfortable because of moments like now where my back is really pissing me off.
I was just putting my pants back on after working out and when I picked up my left leg I had this pain that shot right up my back.
After rolling my eyes and swearing I sat down and very carefully put my shoes on so I could come home.
The seat heaters for cold weather in my opinion are also overrated. Being that, that seats will NOT get warmed up unless your sitting in them, so it's not like you can start your ride to warm it up and turn on the seat heaters and expect to sit on warm leather. So you're sitting on the cold leather anyway and your body temp does warm them up after sitting in them with or without heaters. So the seat heaters never meant much to me for the purpose of not initially sitting on cold leather because you're going to have to no matter what.
But, when you have a bad back, the seat heaters are fantastic. I used mine year round, mostly on longer drives. That's pretty much all I used them for. I'd even sometimes carry a dish towel in the truck. I could get it wet, wring it out, and put it on my and have a moist heat pad. Worked great. Made my back stiffer than hell, but once I got out and walked around a bit, broke up the stiffness, then I felt better than I normally would have.
