Any good way of shortening the seat mounting brackets? I know the very similar seats in my Trailblazer have a good 6 inches between seat bottom and floor and lumbar seats are practically a must for me.

Ah yea lumbar would be nice. Are yours electric? There may be about 3 inches that can be removed at the front lift joint via cut and weld, but then the seat would slope forward :-(
I currently have 6-7 inches between the seat bottom and steering wheel. For now I just leave the truck running in park and get out lol!

No, mine are manual, which I prefer in a way. The biggest advantage I can see for power seats is if they have memory other than that I see no advantage.

I used to feel the same way, until I got these seats on my 2002. I was sold. The advantage being all the different positions you can get the seat to adjust. You can adjust the seat to be just as comfy as a recliner. Then my 2003, 04 and 05 did have the power heated memory.

Heated is the only way to go with leather, I don't like having my ass on cold leather. I'd love to have memory seats, I would be way less anal about having my seat adjustment messed up I keep it very comfortable because of moments like now where my back is really pissing me off.

I was just putting my pants back on after working out and when I picked up my left leg I had this pain that shot right up my back.

After rolling my eyes and swearing I sat down and very carefully put my shoes on so I could come home.

The seat heaters for cold weather in my opinion are also overrated. Being that, that seats will NOT get warmed up unless your sitting in them, so it's not like you can start your ride to warm it up and turn on the seat heaters and expect to sit on warm leather. So you're sitting on the cold leather anyway and your body temp does warm them up after sitting in them with or without heaters. So the seat heaters never meant much to me for the purpose of not initially sitting on cold leather because you're going to have to no matter what.

But, when you have a bad back, the seat heaters are fantastic. I used mine year round, mostly on longer drives. That's pretty much all I used them for. I'd even sometimes carry a dish towel in the truck. I could get it wet, wring it out, and put it on my and have a moist heat pad. Worked great. Made my back stiffer than hell, but once I got out and walked around a bit, broke up the stiffness, then I felt better than I normally would have.

I'll probably order a rigid industries 20 inch LED light bar for that guard. Should light things up real nice.

I keep walking by mine every day. I just haven't had the time to show it some love, but soon I'll get to chasing my electrical issue!
