Finally got the truck back on the road and took it for a nice drive. Smooth as butter and the speedometer is finally accurate.

Tell ya what... I was nervous replacing the u-joints, but I think I did good. :cheers: Really ought to update my build thread. I get distracted and forget.

Ordered an OEM ignition key lock cylinder this week, along with a pair of GM black rubber keys. Put that in this afternoon and finally have an ignition lock that functions.

Expected to have the TBI rebuilt kit, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and fuel pressure gauge by today, but the only thing that's shown up was the 1/4" pod spacer. Hopefully next week I can get the TBI rebuilt.

i got those same valve covers i got the whole kit i get compliments all the time!

Been fixing up my square I have a build thread of everything I have done. Just thought I would show off my key chain for it with extra stuff from the shed

That's a hell of a keychain. As heavy as that hook is, you need to go to the Steering Column thread that 89S has done and get yourself familiar with it so when it comes time to replace that lock cylinder you've already got an idea of what you're getting into. :rofl:

:cheers: I have already accounted for that. I keep the hook hooked on the shift while the key is in the ignition!

How much body lift did he have? I'm not a big fan of body lifts either, but giving credit where credit is due, at least when he did it, he at least tried to do it right. It does look like hell with the tanks hanging down and IF YOU MUST have a body lift, may as well gain some clearance on the tanks.

Although, does make for a PITA when you want to remove the body lift. At least the OEM factory holes should have been able to be used to drop them back down.

it was a 3 inch body lift. Yes i am using the stock holes but when it already has a 6 inch suspension lift he could of left out the body lift. Just can't understand why anyone would want to ride around on a 3 inch puck. It does look better then it did. When i get completely done i will post before and after pics

+1, those valve covers are real purdy. Of course, since they don't say "GMC" they're dead to me.
