I don't get how yall live in that snow and cold af ****. I'll be the first to admit that I'll **** out when it gets really cold. But, the snowing and ice. Getting trapped in your house for a month or a couple of weeks. Then trying to drive in that ****.

I lived in Illinois for 3 years and hated the winters! Dig your car out early in the morning. Then have them plow a wall of snow 3 foot high across your driveway. Warming your car up while scraping ice off your windows. Door locks freezing.

**** all the above!^

The only thing people bitch about Texas weather is it's hot af. I'll give you that but, hot never affected mobility or water or power loss.

Yes a hurricane or tropical storm can screw ya but, that's not every year that happens. Just like the freezing cold this week. Far a few between and can usually prepare for them.

Anyway, to each their own

I’ll take the cold over sweating my ass off all the time. It’s actually not that bad. Then again I haven’t got stuck badly, nor do I have cars.. All trucks, usually the Explorer takes point in these cases. It’s the only thing I got with some weight on the back in the back end. The way I park everything, and how our yard is I don’t even attempt to get other ones out yet. Made tracks for everyone in the little lot/alley we park down. Just gotta know how to drive in it, worst spot has been my friends house in the country. His entire 1/4 mile drive way had ice then snow on top of it. Got stuck, but was able to get myself out without much but rocking.

Decided to tackle my drivers door hinge pins today. I can't believe how bad they were. But I can honestly say it was one of the easiest jobs I've done on this truck. Removed door from truck , used angle grinder to cut the old pins in half , knocked the old pins and bushings out, pressed new ones in with home made tool. Drove new pins in and bolted the door back up . hardest part was aligning the door and it wasn't even that hard

Still need some slight adjustment but have to remove the fender to shift the whole door forward a slight amount . but that will be another day . I can live with the way it is for now.

Change of scenery for the dually today. Been running around in it all day! Ended up putting a new eyelet on both sides of power cable to alternator, as well as finally changing that pesky power steering belt. It was in much need of that. Squealing and chirping to get it to turn sitting still. While sitting still, making all kinds of racket. Well lets just say, it is not the smart way to go tryin to fight your power steering pump at a standstill. Anyway, figured I’d share the small adventure today... Edit: P.S. that extra line down my doors is from some little bi**h many years ago, there is another one down other side... He would beat his woman, and use his children as a protective shield. I couldn’t stand for that, he sure as hell was not man enough to come at me. The one time he did it was with a metal pole, it quickly became mine and I’ll let you figure out the rest...

Like that homemade hinge pin tool! nicely done...I am gonna try that
Worked great . some 1/4 -20 all thread a 9/16 1/4 drive socket and some nuts and washers. Much better approach then trying to smack the brass bushings in with a hammer. This was easy and caused no damage to the bushings

Replaced the alternator in the old girl today. Voltage regulator must have been shot, lots of movement when giving it throttle, ticked up to 18! New one has it steady where it should be. Just in time too, my daily driver Honda is acting up, and my truck saved me getting to work today.

I have a heavy duty tie rod assembly waiting to be installed.Just didn’t feel like it.Trying to recover from my last hitch at work. The weather really f$cked things up.So much I worked one of my days off.Sometimes $ just isn’t worth it if you don’t wanna do anything while your off.

I am currently cleaning out my little shop.It took a Red Bull to even half ass begin.I don’t know why,but even with OCD I get **** drug out all over the place.

Anyway, ever time I end up regretting it,but getting rid of some extra parts on Craigslist.I just don’t have the space.

I did see a beautiful woman at the store and our eyes locked/smiles/double looks. My energy picked up real quick.I hate being good.....

I replaced the blower motor a couple days ago. It was squealing, I applied lube to the shaft and bushing on the OE one but installed a new one anyway.

Nothing to my truck but helped my buddy put a fresh windshield in his ‘73. NEVER. AGAIN. 2 windshields, 6hrs and every ounce of patience we had later, it was finally in. That might very well be the hardest thing I’ve ever done
