Cleaned out the cab of all the tools and parts. Cleaned out the bed.

Truck going to PROFESSIONAL welder to fix the driver floor that I ****** up with my feeble attempts at welding.

Either that or the truck becomes a 500 yd. target.

Hope it is the former, but I the latter …

Can I bring a M1 Garand ? :hunter:

I need some help with motor and tranny swap. Maybe we can work something out. o_O

As long as you are just after a strong back - well, relatively … and a weak mind, then all is good !! :anitoof:

Weekend project, I assume ?

Actually, eons ago I did an engine on a '75 1/2 GMC 2wd - pulled the engine and tranny together.

It had headers, so pretty easy - did not have to fight w/ undoing exhaust pipes - just unbolt the headers from the engine and tie off the accessories.

Sad part is that had I known about a high *VOLUME* oil pump probably could have saved the time, effort, and engine $'s , but that is the way it goes …

No idea who I bought it from, but that engine was delivered to the house.

Made life simple. :waytogo:

  • New wiring harness - American Autowire #510008 universal kit. Not a trivial job! Have almost full battery voltage at my headlights now, so no need for relays! Dash lamps are brighter, too, and wipers run faster.
  • New dash pad from Cheyenne Pickup. Not as good as I expected based on reviews, but I don't have anything to compare it to.
  • Just ordered an OE type seat cover from LMC.
  • Bought some Noico sound deadening sheets at Amazon for the floor and the rear cab wall. Looks to be very nice stuff for significantly lower cost than DynaMat Xtreme.

Nice job, I'd be proud as I could be.

Installed an adapter to keep from having to do math to stay out of jail.
Simple fix, notice the rebuild date?

I would take those auto hubs off your hands if you're just pitching them. Sent to 65265 Thanks
No, I'm not pitching them. I thought they may be the problem, but they weren't.
So I cleaned them up a bit and put them on my garage shelf for backups. Or I may reinstall them. I prefer autos over manuals (when they work)

All lights mysteriously stopped working today. I thought oh no, I fried something.

Frantically tested things for ten minutes before I realized it accidentally bumped one of my blackout switches. Happened to me about seven years ago, too. I really need to get these things labeled, lol! I never use them, so I forget the orientation for normal driving.

About to get it’s first bath in over a year. My expectations aren’t real high for shine.

Post bath glamour shot. Lots of little silver smudges from all the anti seize that I’ll have to clean off with wd40. Overall, pretty happy with what I pulled off in 16 months on my first square body project. Can’t thank everyone enough for all the help already given and yet to be given.

Very nice, man! Looking good!

And I accidentally bumped my fuel selector switch a couple weeks ago and the truck wouldn't start. I did the same thing. Luckily it didn't take too long to figure it out. Ha.

Changed the atf in my transfer case today. Just good practice I guess, as the fluid was mint.
