I got my new Moog ball joints in yesterday, so now I got plenty of work to finish by the weekend should get front axle together this weekend, it sucks only being able to work on this stuff for 3 hours a day and thats if I get up at 3am.

I don't know if I would be able to cut anything on such a nice body like that but they look really good on your truck, they add more muscle I think and make it look damn good!

Shoot man, I forgot all about that spindle and hub. Do you still need them or are you just going to run with what you have?

Thanks bro! I thought the same thing for a lil bit, but why make it pretty if you can't do what you want with it? I would cut anything on that truck to make it like I wanted it. I cut the fenders, and I got a lot of heat for cutting 6x9 hole in my doors for speakers and DIN hole in the dash for the stereo, but it sounds better, has better bass, and makes me happy. besides, I'm not worried about resale; If I get rid of my truck someone stole it, or i wrecked it beyone repair, so either way, Don't matter what i cut up....:boti:

I say do what you want. whatever happens it can always be repaired later. may take some welding, but hey, looks the same when its fixed. :bowroflwerd6:

EDIT:
I found a pic of the small notch I had to cut out of the fender for the new tires to fit. Not too bad.
NOTE: In the pic is the old 265/75R16 tires.

That's not a bad cut on the fenders at all. I'd have not problems cutting a door for 6x9's eihter. You could always get the Silverado style carpet looking cover to hide it later on if a change were made. Not to mention having easier access to hook and unhook window and lock motors.

Finish painting the driver door and fender. Hopefully get it cut and buffed and the side windows back in it this weekend.

very cool robert! You know one thing that has always annoyed me about square bodies is the very top corner of the fender where it meet the window frame doesn't match the window frame itself and it always looks odd to me when looking at square bodies especially with the hood off. I think GM should have made the window frame more closely match the to fender where the fender, door and window all meet.

I also hate the way the fender matches up to the window frame. I thought about trying to reshape the area but it looks to be more of a pain in the ass than it is worth.

I would agree with that but would look good if done right but would be a tremendous amount of work.

Just started spraying my salvaged battery tray with black Krylon Rust Tough Enamel. Looking REALLY good so far. Might put up a post on it after. I took pics.

Also added STP oil treatment with ZDDP.

Welded up my exhaust tonight. Accidentally knocked the wire speed knob from 25 to 50 while climbing under the truck and didn't notice. Took me a while to figure out why it was welding like complete ****. :roflbow: Got that fixed up, bolted her back up to the manifolds, and took the truck out on the highway for the first time. Ran great, plenty of power. Still have the same pesky exhaust leak from my other truck (manifolds or collector gasket, I've replaced both multiple times, never could figure it out on the other truck, and all new gaskets on this truck didn't fix it either).

Did you try the molasses rust removal on your battery tray?

For the first time in over 20 years I got stranded. The 84 C20 left me fuggin stranded a mile from the house !!! Time to take it over the scale !!! BITCH !!! :flipthebird: Called my bro to take me to my tow truck, then realized fugg all that, thru a strap on in that was behind the seat and and drug it home. Popped my $48.50 Dizzy in it and it fired right up. I'm certain it was the IC Module. So that's what I did to 1 of mah trucks today !!! Took about 15 minutes. :waytogo:
