And the guy who used to own our truck and helped me get the title straightened out just bought this! Lol
Said he was upset when he saw his old truck all fixed up and wished he still had it. A month later…..

How the hell you find the exact same old truck not only twice but within a month of looking for one.
Only difference is it’s a Chevy which he likes more. He’s the one that changed our truck to Chevy badges back in the day.
It’s even optioned basically the same 350/400/4.10/camper special
How crazy is that!? You should tell him it's ok that he likes the lower class cousin Chevy over a GMC, not everyone can measure up :Big Laugh:

Finally getting around to replacing the #6 piston in the camo truck. When I started in on it tonight, I only planned on getting it torn down. Wound up getting it mostly back together too. Yay me, lol.

HAPPY NEW YEARS! I did something dirty today. . . don't know why i've been pushing this off but i got tired of looking at it and getting this out of the way opens up about a hundred more things i can do easier. The previous owner did a poor job on the last motor rebuild and never did get it to run. So pulling it out had to happen. Basic lookover, deep clean, some paint and other trinkits here and there. Had to fabricate another anchor bracket for the cherry picker. i only had one by the #1, so i fabricated a quick bracket out of useless scrap from the dually. Worked pretty great. Little dicey, but going in i'll use the RIGHT tool, that's for sure.

Installed headliner and associated trim, dome light (never had one before), the windshield, and back glass. Didn’t get the lock strip installed on either piece of glass, I’ll wait for a warmer day to do that.

Finally got her running yesterday. Quick recap- bought it with a new engine swap that was only partially done. So over the last month of so, I replaced fuel lines, battery cables, relashed the valves and put reusable gaskets on, new intake, new reusable oil pan gasket, header gaskets, plugs, wires, fuel pump and finished the power steering setup. Needs the carb tuned, but I’ll sort that out after it’s on the road. Complete brake system re-do is next and then I’ll order tires.

Haven't posted anything on my Suburban in ages. Got a few things done, registration and such - nice thing about Idaho is that 2 year registration with personalized plates is about the same as 1 yr in west coast states and no emissions test either.
Got a few small things addressed like wipers. Next up I have to replace a couple of vacuum lines that fell apart and figure out why the cluster illumination and backup lights don't work. I don't recall if the cluster lights worked in the past so will start checking grounds. Tails, signal and brake lights work, as do signal, high beam and 4wd/idiot light indicators and dome lights, so I'm guessing a bad ground or the plug wasn't pushed in when I had it apart. Backup lights are probably just a bulb.
Other than that been driving it a bit, it likes snow and ice, even with 15 year old tires. Takes forever for the heater though...

I added new cup holders from LSfab, had a custom dash emblem made and installed that. Just been thinking if I want to go with Dakota digital gauges or with auto meter gauges. I think I’m leaning towards auto meter also just got 3 point seatbelt harness that needs to be installed. Been raining a lot lately haven’t been able to uncover my truck to finish everything up.

So I took advantage of the high 60's temp here and washed her to get ready for inspection at the DMV tomorrow. Bad news is the chineesium front bumper I bought from LMC less than 1 year ago is rusting through the chrome already, even with wax on it. Thanx LMC, NOT!
