Morning session:
I had some bubble wrap at the shop that was left over from a project so I was wondering how good it would look in the cab of my SB. Might provide minimal soundproofing and insulation, right? LOL. Started refreshing the grill. The inner sections are graphite peel-coat, and the outer trim will be metallic silver.

curious how thats gonna work under the carpet as I have access to it as well at work. Probably enough to do the whole floor in a week or 2 (blood coolers come with inside)

I didn't install it under my floor mat, that has sound liner under there. This is just under and behind the seat.

I finally got my engine put back into my truck. Trans went out, I pulled it back in February and had to save up for a few months set it off to monster transmissions back July. Got it back on the 16th this month. Was doing some small stuff to the engine as well. But it’s back in the truck now!

Morning session:
I scuffed up the door panels and repainted them. Repainted the defrost grills too. Polished the hubaps and discovered something interesting when I got to the rear set. Just added painting out the emblems, and painting the rims, onto the list too.

Out of curiosity, what is the interesting part about the rear hubcaps? I scrolled back and forth between the two and the only difference I see it the hole for the front locking hubs. Good work on the polishing though

Yellow trim would be my guess - presumably off a 77.

Dropped Goldie off at the transmission shop- TCC quit working. That's where the Rural King battery died about 2 weeks ago, too, but we were able to confirm that it is probably the solenoid in the pan while the old battery died ...

Hoping he can do a few other things, too, as the oil burning is annoying.

However, if he can't, a new motor would finally give Goldie some ballz although I am not quite ready for that yet.

Evening session:
I installed the windshield wiper arms and blades. Previously I had installed new washer hose and painted them. Then I went inside and made the wife hot under the collar by installing an upholstery kit on the seat. I added 1" of high density foam on the seat, and 1/2" of high density foam on the back. I'll be busy tomorrow because I got 6 boxes of parts in this evening.

Got a new starter the old one was making a weird chattering noise. Upgraded to new permanent magnet gear reduction starter. New battery the old one was 6 yrs old didn't trust it and rebuilt the batt cables. The new starter is over 10# lighter.

Chevy hubcaps are dime a dozen comparatively speaking.
You find good GMC rear hubcaps that aren’t a fortune, don’t hesitate on getting them.
A bit harder than finding good 4wd 3/4 ton front hubcaps but not as rare as 1 ton front 4wd caps.

I went and looked at mine last night to try and see if there was something unique, and they are the same style as yours, just in need of polish and paint. Now I know you have GMC, that does make a difference.
