I cleaned mine up and followed my favorite ex-brother-in-law to the Gonzales Jambalaya Festival Car Show. We know my truck is never going to be a show winner but he insists I bring it anyway. It makes a great pack mule and it definitely gets some folks excited. It doesn't get as much attention as some of the vehicles but it does get some. I think a lot of folks can relate to it because so many of those old trucks were around and in use for so many years.

I took this pic for @Ron Sebastian . We could not set the canopy up behind my truck because of the slope and the mud so we set it up behind my friend's Nova. That red Nova took Best in Show btw.

I will post a few more show pics in the Event Thread so as to not jam up this one.

little body work on the doors prepping for paint. I was gonna leave it, but when I sanded it.....there's was too much for me to handle. Daily driver/hunting truck so it doesn't need to be perfect but it was just to much.

I have to ask, because I don't think I know the story. She's lookin' pretty good in that picture. But now it's in pieces? What prompted that?
It needed a paint job.
That’s all.
Re-doing interior as well.
And it’s almost back together…lol.

Well I have some bad news. It does not look like I'll be taking advantage of that offer to borrow it in exchange for putting it back together. The manifold job looks like it did the trick. Feed haul was originally scheduled for this weekend, but has been pushed to the next and now looks like the one after that. One of my suppliers is up in Bow, Wa, and his day job requires his to work one weekend every other month. Can't buy feed if the guy ain't there. One of my other guys is in Silvana and his full time job is feed, so he's always around. Not to long ago I would have just gone up there in the truck to each guy separately on separate days, but because of gas prices I hit them both up on the same trip.

For everyone else that hasn't been following my oil usage issues on my 305 (this will definitely fit the thread) Back in the end of Feb I fouled #7 spark plug. Following that I've been fouling it every 120 miles or so, was a little long but kept shrinking all the while the truck is running worse on it's good days than normal despite passing multiple compression tests and leak down tests. First tried bandaids. Anti-fouler, no made it ping. Hotter plug no difference, changed oil type and poured in a bottle of hyperlube, no change. Then opened her up and did valve stem seals. Nothing nada, oil usage getting worse over time. Eventually pulled the intake off to find it was sucking oil into #7 bad and #5 a bit. Runs a whole lot better now.

Long story short @Grit dog I'm trying to get my ESC working too now. I've been running without a vac advance because the ESC has been inop since I bought the truck, it's been something I've just put off and was just getting into fixing before the oil control issues. This weekend I started digging into the system to find that the ES module is gone and someone did an ESC bypass, not at the distributor but under the dash, and by cutting the harness for the ESC. So while I look for the needed stuff to put that back together I've installed an adjustable vacuum advance can so I can get something going there. With gas prices what they are I'll take what I can get having at least some vacuum advance should help, I hope anyway. So the feed haul being delayed just gives me a little time to get that stuff dialed in.

Bummer, man! I was looking forward to budget re-assembly! LOL
It's getting close now, though. Only 87 items left to do! Hahaha. But it is weather tight now and able to get out of the shop when needed.

Got it up on the stand and got it torn apart today. I think I scored, the thing looks like brand new on the inside. Super super clean. Looks like the guy that had this car, had the engine rebuilt right before he crashed the car.
I'm just going to put new gaskets in it, put on my pan and intake on, repaint it, and put it back in my truck.
Can't wait to have my truck back.

Took Friday off-ish (my truck is at work, so I was still available for issues/still checking emails) to give myself a 4 day weekend to work on all of my junk as well as detail my mom's car for her. Yesterday I found my noise from a few weeks back that I thought may be a cracked flywheel/loose crank or torque converter bolt. Turns out the bendix spring in the starter had given up so it let the bendix rest against the flywheel when the truck was nose up or accelerating. So relieved that's all it was :pepper:

While it was in the air I remounted my Derale trans cooler, clocked it at a better angle to scoop air. Now I just need to finish wiring up the fans on a relay and put the temp switch inline. Might have to remake my lines, not sure yet. Those bunjees are some I just picked up at HF that have carabiners on them and they were perfect for this!

So now she's sitting on the lift with some of the front drive off, rad out, AC comp and bracket off. Going to bring the hoist over tomorrow to pull the motor up enough to get the pan out and work on resealing that. This will be the 2nd attempt lol

Also figured out what I need for bolts to mount up my Left Coast 32 billet lower AC mount when I put the oil pan back on.

Hey Zach, do y'all sell that transmission crossmember in the first picture and will it fit a 700R4?
