What is the purpose of this thing? I took it out of a parts truck years ago. Is it worth using today? I have an alpine cassette player in the truck. Would I see any improvement?

Everyone had those in the seventies when I was a teenager and K94 was 150 miles away. Works good in your ride but messes up reception for the car beside you!

In the 60's, my grandpa had a patent on a signal booster for transistor radios. His had a plunger that allowed you to fine tune the boost. I had one of these Radio shack versions in the early 80's. It helped in more remote areas. I didn't see any difference in more urban areas that were close to the radio signal.
